How does a person become mature? What is the difference between a mature person and an orderly person? Do we become mature by blending chaos and order or does maturity require escaping order altogether? Can we be chaotic in some areas of our life, orderly in other areas and mature in others? There is this idea about love, that says “love makes us vulnerable.” The more we love someone the more open we are to being hurt by them. In this podcast Dave DeWitt suggests that is not true of love because it is not the biblical idea of love.
As Christians, how should we define ministry? By spreading the gospel and teaching the Bible or helping the poor and destitute people of the earth? Is the kingdom of God on earth something we bring about, with God’s help, or something Jesus brings about at His Second Coming, without our help? Are we to focus on influencing our culture and the cultures of the world toward Christian values?
