Daichi Hayashi thought Scotland needed containment.
He was wrong.
The trail from the reservoir leads to blood in the mud, ice forming where it should not exist, stolen supplies, and a ruined shack sitting alone in the middle of open ground. To the field team, the subject looks cornered.
To Daichi, the field looks chosen.
Then Malcolm Graves arrives.
Old, limping, rude, and carrying a cane, Malcolm looks like the last person anyone should send into an active cross-origin pursuit. But when the operation collapses and fire and ice tear through trained containment teams, Daichi sees the truth P.A.T.H. has kept above his clearance.
Malcolm is not support.
He is C-7.
And if that is what a C-class asset can do, then Daichi may have dangerously underestimated the girl living under his roof.
