Chapter 17 — The Escape Route

Daichi Hayashi was sent to Scotland to investigate a veil event.
What he finds is not a simple recovery site.
At a rain-soaked reservoir, several people are missing, the water behaves incorrectly, and the official cover story is already in motion. But Daichi sees what others missed: the subject did not simply appear and collapse.
They escaped.
As the trail moves away from the water, Daichi begins to realize that P.A.T.H. knows more than it is telling him. New terminology, old buried incidents, and Board-level evasions suggest that Riku and Sara may not be the only impossible people in the world.
Back in Okinawa, Riku keeps writing things down.
Because when the same watcher stops repeating, that does not mean the watching stopped.
It means the pattern changed.
