Chapter 3 — The Road Back

Riku has survived Valenmere, but surviving is not the same as belonging.

After his encounter with Sara Redmere, Riku tries to keep his distance from the feared Scarlet Blade. But when he learns of Maelin, a strange warlock who studies thresholds between worlds, Riku sees his first real chance of returning home.

The road north brings danger, uneasy trust, quiet confessions, and answers that may not be as simple as Riku hoped.

To go home, he may have to leave behind the first people in Valenmere who made him feel seen.

And Sara Redmere does not handle goodbyes easily.
