Delight has an appetite
Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” But delighting in God is about so much more than getting what we desire. It’s about developing a desire for Him. In this episode of Be YOU — Handcrafted by God, we’re diving into Psalm 37 and talking about what it really means to delight yourself in the Lord. When you spend time in His presence, His Word, and His ways, something begins to shift. Your appetite changes. You stop only wanting what God can give you, and you start wanting God Himself. And just like our natural appetite can be trained by what we continually consume, our spiritual appetite can be developed too. The more you feast on Him, the more you hunger for Him. We’re talking about trusting God when life doesn’t make sense, refusing to become distracted by what everyone else is doing, cultivating a genuine hunger for His presence, and allowing Him to reshape the desires of your heart. This episode is a heart check: Do I have an appetite for God, or only an appetite for what I want God to do for me? Because when He becomes your delight, His presence isn’t something you squeeze into your life. He becomes the One your soul craves.
