Bandecdotes with Phill Paxton
Season 1
by Bandecdotes with Phill Paxton
Keegan Beach of Lastli popped by for some Bandecdotes. Him and I have always been acquaintances in the music scene but this was the first time we got to sit down and talk. We talk about getting surrounded by police in a Burger King parking lot, sketchy places to sleep on the road, and Michael Cera hanging out in every Lastli green room. This week I sat down with very funny and charismatic Jacob Bergsma of My Son The Hurricane. If you’re from the Niagara region, there’s a good chance you’ve had the pleasure of seeing or hearing him do his thing. Bergsma and I were also on this year’s CKTB 610 AM’s Niagara Music. We had a great time together talking about all sorts of non-sense like, the sock goblin, a remote island that My Son The Hurricane had the pleasure of playing, and Eggermeister. He's easily one of my best friends that I've had the pleasure of getting to know. Him and I worked at a bong shop downtown St. Catharines and had a hell of time together. We unpack some of our wildest stories from working at the shop, as well as funny stories he has from working as a tattoo artist now. All this and more on your favourite Ontario music based podcast. This week I sat down with young Jake Thompson. He's the vocalist of a band called Mile End, based out of Brampton. Mile End has exploded on the Ontario scene with their debut EP Burn the Wise. This young hard working band has something to prove and I can't wait till' they start playing more shows. We get talking about how Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit caught wind of Mile End, how Michael Cera's sister isn't a fan, and the impact Guitar Hero 3 can leave on someone.
