Season 8

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek-Strange New Worlds S4E5 (2026, TV)

It's the Muppet episode. Bob and Matt confront 'Level Five Transporter Accident' — Pike as a Muppet, childhood nostalgia weaponized, and the most controversial Strange New Worlds episode yet. Matt revisits his Muppet Babies-and-Fraggle-Rock youth; Bob defends the chaos. Their verdict: it could have been the best episode of the show if not for that stupid dream ending. Controversial, but not for the reasons the haters say.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek-Strange New Worlds S4E4 (2026, TV)

Bob butchers Italian so you don't have to. 'A Case of Chiaroscuro' gets the full pronunciation-meltdown treatment before Bob and Matt admit it: this may not be the most interesting Strange New Worlds episode. The internet half-agrees — one viewer's plea, 'can the bit be what if we did a normal Star Trek episode?' sparks a debate about what normal Trek even means anymore. Planets, adventures, ship talk: they litigate the formula and fuel the outrage machine.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek-Strange New Worlds S4E3 (2026, TV)

The stoner comedy episode. Bob and Matt return to Strange New Worlds with 'Human Best Friend,' catching up after a busy stretch in the real world — and letting the dust settle on the season's most controversial episodes first. Is it cringe? One viewer's verdict: 'It's like a Voyager level cringe episode. I'd eat up a whole season of this.' They debate whether the silliness betrays Trek or continues its proudest tradition, from TOS through Voyager.

Uncanny Treks: FF #9-16 (2013, Comic)

Family Freakout! Bob and Matt wrap their coverage of Fraction and Allred's FF with issues #9-16 — and immediately disagree: Matt found them confusing without the companion Fantastic Four run, Bob hard-disagrees. They rally around the Ant-Man, She-Hulk, Medusa, and Ms. Thing weirdness, salute Bentley-23 (who wears #13 because he's the 23rd clone), and update the legendary 42-item list. Then: a break from comics for X-Men '97, Strange New Worlds, and Caped Crusader.

Uncanny Treks: FF #1-8 (2012, Comic)

School's in session! Bob and Matt dive into the first eight issues of Matt Fraction and Mike Allred's FF — the all-ages, all-weird spinoff where Ant-Man inherits the Future Foundation and its team of kid geniuses. With She-Hulk, Medusa, and Ms. Thing rounding out the strangest faculty in comics, it's pop-art visuals, big sci-fi ideas, and Marvel's most charming book of the 2010s. Plus: how it fits into the Hickman-to-Fraction Fantastic Four era.

Uncanny Treks: Batman-Caped Crusader Season 2 E6-10 (2026, TV)

The back half, and the end of the road. Bob and Matt finish Batman: Caped Crusader's second season — a show they admire precisely because it's a re-imagining rather than a straight restart, committed to doing something new with familiar material even when not every swing connects. They pick favorites from the final five, mourn the season three that will never be, and get sidetracked, as always, by X-Men 2 (2002). A fond farewell to one of animation's classiest Bat-books.

Uncanny Treks: Batman-Caped Crusader Season 2 E1-5 (2026, TV)

The Bat returns — reimagined, not restarted. Bob and Matt begin their two-part trek through Batman: Caped Crusader's second season, covering the first five episodes of the stylish animated noir. They revisit the show's boldest swings (yes, including the ginger-swapped Penguin), debate the new takes on the Spectre and Roxy Rocket, and name their least favorites: 'Spectral Hand' for Matt, 'Rocket Threat Glare' for Bob. Verdict so far: strong across the board, no reason to skip anything.

Uncanny Treks: My Adventures with Superman Season 3 Recap (2026, TV)

It's MAWS season. Bob — who hates the title My Adventures with Superman so much he refuses to say it — finally convinces Matt to watch season three, and the two look back on the whole run of the 2023 Superman show. They covered nearly every episode of the first two seasons, but does season three reward the effort or confirm the grumbling? A frank, funny post-mortem on the show's charms and limits — hopefully their last word on the subject. (If you like the show, they're sorry.)

Uncanny Treks: X-Men '97 Season 2 Recap (2026, TV)

The season in full. Bob and Matt wrap their X-Men '97 Season 2 coverage with a complete overhaul — one long story with a definite beginning, middle, and end, full of surprises, deaths, and resurrections. Online opinions are all over the place, but the hosts are easier to satisfy: as Bob taught Matt, judge it by what it intended to do. Also on the table: ranking the great superhero cartoons, whether Ghostbusters counts, and the eternal appeal of Alex Toth's Space Ghost.

Uncanny Treks: X-Men '97 S2E9 (2026, TV)

Nine episodes? Come on, give us more X-Men! Bob and Matt close out X-Men '97's second season with 'Survival of the Fittest' — starting with Bob's grievance about a recap that drags on forever. They celebrate the X-Factor members finally getting to cook (Multiple Man, Siryn, and Strong Guy shine), pour one out for the criminally underused Wolfsbane, and debate whether shorter seasons are a virtue or a tease. Next stop: the full season-two recap.
