Episode notes
In March of 1897, author and doctor Anton Chekhov is diagnosed with tuberculosis. The same year, two European surgeons introduced gauze surgical masks in medical settings to prevent the spread of bacteria and infectious diseases. In 2026, Elijah walks into Chekhov’s office looking for help managing chronic pain caused by Long COVID, a condition Chekhov has never heard of, and yet knows all too well.
