Episode notes
Was Brendon McCullum the real problem, or does England cricket have much deeper issues?
In this video, I give my thoughts on whether England were right to part ways with Brendon McCullum and why I believe the bigger problem lies within the structure of English cricket itself.
I discuss:
- Whether McCullum deserved to lose his job.
- Why England's batting fundamentals have declined.
- The importance of defensive technique in Test cricket.
- How T20 leagues and franchise cricket have changed the game.
- Why England continue to struggle against the world's best teams.
- What the ECB needs to do if England want to become a dominant Test side again.
Do you agree? Was sacking Brendon McCullum the right decision, or are the ECB focusing on the wrong problem?
