Whether it's samples and interpolations, or Beyoncé just referencing her own prior work, Renaissance hits the way it does because Bey and team weren't afraid to reach back into the past to determine what worked back then and pay homage.
Why is this album so addictive? Because the music is so gotdamn good! In this episode we get into the nitty gritty. I'm talking, album structure, beats per minute, the immaculate transitions, the live instrumentation (played my legends at that!). All of it. Don't worry non-music theory folks, it doesn't go too deep but you'll definitely learn something new.
