Truth! Justice! Animation! These are the virtues we here at Acme Podcasts Inc. fight for on a daily basis. No, we're not super heroes, but we watched two cartoons about super heroes this week. That's right, this week The Boys are taking a gander at The Tick and The Incredibles! Before you go looking for your super suit and letting loose your battle cry, sit tight because The Boys also talk a little bit about Primal and Duck Tales in the Week and Upkeep segments.
The Boys are joined this week by good friend of the show, KuiperNebula, to discuss two movies that he remembers fondly: Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein and Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet The Wolfman! That's right, we're back on those squeaky little music machines that Lazar J loves so much. They also spend some time talking about books they had to read in high school, reminisce about college papers of yesteryear, and have some fun talking about The Muppets for a bit. So sit back, grab some fun-sized candies, and strap in for this week's ACME PODCASTS INC!
The 2nd of Spoopy Month is upon us here at the old API podcast warehouse and we're working overtime to bring you our takes on the first three seasons of the Netflix animated series Castlevania! Before they can get to the meat, they've gotta eat their potatoes, and this is a weird metaphor because I just mean they've gotta take care of that upkeep they've been putting off and catch up with the three most recent episodes of Duck Tales season 3 as well.
It's Halloween time, baby! That means we're kicking off the second Acme theme month our boys have done! That's right, it's time for Spoopy Month! We're bringing you a new episode every Monday in October, and then a special BONE-us episode on the Spoop Master General Day itself! To kick it all off we're talking the first season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, with special guest and Acme's Chief Jojo Liaison, Adrian. So (without being roundabout) sit back, pull up your biggest bowl of fun-sized candies and get ready for ACME PODCASTS INC!
We're inching towards October now so let's break out some ghosts and spirits. This wasn't actually planned like that, but ya know what? It works. It's season 1 of Yu Yu Hakusho and the first sixteen episodes of Shaman King this week. so let's get going.
Come and set on the lily pad and dip your toes in our pondcast as we talk about some amphibtitious tales told through animation. Is that enough frog puns? We're talking about Amphibia and Freddy As F.R.07. That's the joke. You happy?
Half of us had a Rough Weekend, if you know what I mean (and I don't think you do) so we're airing a special emergency 90% Evergreen Content Episode all about some of our favorite animated music videos. Check our twitter for a link to the playlist. And hey, if we missed one you particularly love, don't worry, we're definitely going to revisit this topic at some point.
THE FINAL CHAPTER OF FANTASY MONTH 2020 IS UPON US. REJOICE AND okay, enough of that. This week The Boys tackle some Space Fantasy, or Science Fantasy, or Future Fantasy. Whatever. It's fun. They take their shot with the 2011 reboot of Thundercats and the classic Toonami hit, Outlaw Star. So, grab your samoflange, and load up that caster, cuz we're heading for the stars. Also they kibbitz a little about Central Park, The Order, Brockmire, Kamen Rider Build and Appare Ranman.
Welcome back again for the conclusion of our two part bonus episodes! As promised, this time The Boys, plus returning special guest Radical Apollo take on the monumental task of talking about the PC Gamer Event and EA Play Live 2020, as well as offer a forecast of upcoming gaming events and we all learn something about Lazar J that you probably don't want to know, because even he wishes he didn't know that. Tune in!
Uhwwwwhaaaat! Part one of a two-part bonus episode focusing on recent gaming announcements? Uh, yeah! Hell yeah! The Boys, plus returning special guest Radical Apollo tackle the PS5 reveal event and play a round of Saturday Morning Pitch. Be sure to come back tomorrow for part two, where we tackle the PC Gamer event and EA Play Live 2020.
