Episode notes

Flydubai Flight 1073, Dubai to Tel Aviv, 174 people on board. Israeli officials say the Omani co-pilot stabbed the captain and tried to crash the plane, and it lost thousands of feet in seconds, per the Times of Israel, CNBC and Newsweek. The wounded captain, Smit Machchhar, unlocked the cockpit door before he collapsed. An Israeli passenger with an aviation background, Yaniv Hayun, ran in. His words: "When I walked in, I saw the attacker on the instruments between the two seats. There were no pilots in the seats." And then: "I grabbed the attacker, put him in a chokehold, and pulled him out." Three other passengers helped hold him. Two airline pilots who happened to be aboard flew the plane to an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and everyone came home to Ben Gurion Wednesday evening, where Prime Minister Netanyahu saluted the heroes. One ordinary man decided he was not going to die sitting down. Chuck reads the story, as reported by Breitbart News off Ynet, the Times of Israel and Newsweek.
