A MUST LISTEN guest/joint-episode a long time in the making, as two of our favorite Saints fans and podcasters Adam and Ryan from the Saints Block Party Podcast join the pod! Max, Nick, and Corey dish with Adam and Ryan about the Week One matchup with the Tennessee Titans, dive into Saints game memories (good and bad), debate their W/L record predictions and overall outlook on the Saints 2023 season, and talk about some fun, upcoming events Adam and Ryan have planned for Patreons of the Saints Block Party Podcasts - INCLUDING their annual meet-up, taking place this year on the weekend of the Saints vs. Bears game (11/4-11/5). Check out saintsblockpartypodcast.com for more info on that! Also, don't worry about that loud crash at the 4:20 mark in the recording, just Max doing some impromptu "renovations" mid-episode...By far the most fun episode we've recorded yet. LISTEN IN! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 23 | SAINTS 2023 SEASON PREVIEW EPISODE

FOOTBALL. IS. BACK! We've been teasing it for a few episodes now, but our 2023 Season Preview Episode is here! Our New Orleans Saints open up the 2023 season in the DOME in just a few days as they take on the Tennessee Titans - but first - we get into our final predictions, projections, and of course - Fearless Predictions - for what is to come this season. We breakdown our expectations for each position group AND each offer some specific predictions as they relate to players or the team as a whole. From a podcast and co-hosts known to make MORE than bold predictions (ah-hem Corey on Kaden Ellis Mountain) - this episode will not disappoint. PLUS, we offer our final pre-season predictions on the Saints final 2023 W/L record - Pro tip: check our May 31 Schedule Release Episode for comparison. This episode is a MUST LISTEN before the Saints kickoff the 2023 Season against the Titans!

Ep. 22 | FINAL CUTS AND INITIAL 53-MAN ROSTER SET - How Did Our Roster Projections Hold Up? Debating Strength of the Roster

The Saints have made their final cuts down to their initial 53-man roster as the preseason comes to a close and they prepare for WEEK ONE of the regular season against the Titans. Last episode we put out the FIRST ANNUAL Corey's Final Cuts - and Max/Nick gave their own roster predictions for where they differed from Corey's projections. How did our projections hold up to the Saints actual roster cuts? What were the surprise cuts? Who were we surprised to see make the initial 53-man roster? The Saints also shored up their 16-man practice squad. Who were we relieved to see clear waivers and sign to the practice squad? Who do we see being elevated to the active roster come Week 1 or later in the season? LISTEN IN as we debate and get into the Saints roster how we think they're looking heading into Week 1 preparations. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 21 | THE 28 TO 3 SAINTS 53 MAN ROSTER PROJECTION EPISODE - aka The FIRST Annual "Corey's Final Cuts" #CFC - Plus Preseason Game 2 Recap aka the Tropical StormQuake Hilary Game

With one preseason game remaining and final cuts less than a week away, we debate our first, very own, Saints Initial 53 Man Roster projections - AKA - the FIRST annual...."Corey's Final Cuts". The same co-host who has built Kaden Ellis Mountain stone-by-stone - and has found more hills to die on than can be believed - reveals to co-hosts Max and Nick his Saints initial 53 man roster projection. There's "some" agreement but plenty enough to debate and get into with these projections. Listen in and see what you think. We also briefly recap the Saints Week 2 Preseason game in L.A., where, thankfully, everyone came out unscathed off the field, braving both tropical storm and earthquake. What players continued to prove their case and who stood out? (both good and bad). This Episode is a must listen before the Saints preseason wraps up!

Ep. 20 | GAME RECAP PRESEASON WEEK 1 – Debating Who Stood Out and Who Disappointed. Look Ahead to Joint Practices in L.A. vs. the Chargers

The Saints are 1-0 …in Preseason…but we all agree the Black and Gold gave us a lot to be excited about in their first preseason outing.  A lot of the positives we’ve been hearing all throughout camp showed out in a big way against the defending Super Bowl champs, especially a near flawless drive from the Saints starting offense against the Chiefs starters AND the Saints DEFENSE holding strong against the Chiefs offense and the best QB in the game right now!  Yes, it was one preseason series, but again, we liked what we saw.  We also get into other players we still think we need to see more from, and who were the surprise standouts of the game?  Also, looking to next week, what do we expect to see from joint practices and game 2 of the preseason vs. the L.A. Chargers.  LISTEN IN! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 19 | Saints Keep Recruiting Big Names – Debating the Impact of Kareem Hunt and Anthony Barr Visits – This year’s offensive line as good as the 2009 Champs’ O-line? – also PRESEASON WEEK 1 PREVIEW

For the first time in a while, we have FULL ATTENDANCE on the pod! Max, Nick, and Corey are back, no guests, and firing up the usual debates. We dive into the most recent Saints Training Camp Updates, including the continued onslaught of the team brining in big name free agents for visits. What do we really think of the Kareem Hunt visit? The Anthony Barr visit just seems to make sense on multiple levels. We get into what injury news from camp concerns us the most, and is this Saints current offensive line actually on the same level as the Super Bowl Champion O-line from 2009? We also talk about the first game back in the DOME! Yes, it’s preseason week 1, but we talk about what we want to see the most out of the first on-field action of the season. Buckle up as the usual banter, debate, and hot takes return on this must listen episode.

Ep. 18 | RALPH MALBROUGH (@SaintsForecast) of Saints Happy Hour Joins the Pod! - Saints Training Camp, Saints History, PLUS the Return of JIMMY and AK set to talk with CLOWN ROGER – Good or bad move?

LISTEN IN for one of the fastest hour-long podcasts you’ll ever experience. Ralph Malbrough, @SaintsForecast on “X”, formerly known as “Twitter”, a recently crowned TWO-TIME/Back-to-Back Best Podcast Winner as announced by the Louisiana Sportswriters Association. Ralph and the guys dish on Saints Training Camp developments to-date and what we want to see for the remainder of camp through the pre-season. We all agree games, even preseason games, can’t come soon enough. Must listen items in this episode include Ralph talking his beginnings as a producer for the late, great Buddy-D on WWL and the beginnings of the Saints Happy Hour Podcast. Also, you’ll definitely want to listen to why Ralph believes the Jimmy Graham trade to the Seahawks was a TRAVESTY, even though viewed by many as a “positive.” He raises some decent points, but do you agree? Also, Alvin Kamara has decided to walk into the lion’s den and voluntarily talk to Roger Goodell to tell “his side” of the story. Is this the right move? We have PLENTY of opinions on this one. At the end of the day, what’s the ultimate outlook – or – the “Saints Forecast” for the 2023 Saints after all is said and done. We get to the bottom of that and a hell of a lot more on another great episode of the 28 to 3 podcast!

Ep. 17 | GARLAND GILLEN OF FOX 8 Sports Joins the Pod to Preview Saints Training Camp and Just About Everything Else from NOLA Food to High School Recruiting and even his Hulu series appearance

Buckle up for a packed episode start-to-finish as we welcome in special guest and a long-time friend of the guys, Garland Gillen of Fox 8 Sports in New Orleans. Recorded the day before Saints veterans reported to training camp, Garland brings it in this episode with his Saints analysis and insider perspective into what to look for, what to expect, and players to watch as the Saints report to camp on Airline Drive. But, we don’t stop at training camp! If you live in New Orleans and tune in to local sports broadcasts or just follow the Saints, you’ve undoubtedly seen our guy Garland (aka, the G Man!) on the air or social media. If not, you’ll quickly become aware on the pulse he has on all aspects of the local sports scene – college, high school, even soccer (or for our British friends, the other “football”). We get into pretty much all of it. Since Garland and Max go way back, including to Max’s restaurant days, this episode has no shortage of talking NOLA food and restaurant scene. As is often the case whenever the guys strike up a convo with Garland, “food and football” are often the main course. Be sure to listen through as we also get Garland’s take on some local high school recruiting scoop, including last year’s Arch Manning recruitment and the recently named No. 1 RB Prospect in the country, prepping locally at St. Martin’s High School in Metairie. If you don’t know about him, you will after this episode. Also, we talk about Garland’s streaming appearance on Hulu’s Algiers, America. Great insight you definitely don’t want to miss. LISTEN IN! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 16 | TOP TEN SAINTS QB’s – DOES ANY OTHER TEAM HAVE A WORSE ALL-TIME QB LIST?

It started with @BarstoolNola posting a list of the Saints "Top 10" QB's of all-time, and....we think the list had some glaring issues, to say the least. SO, in this episode, we break-down which Saints QB's should actually make the Top 10 but also debate whether we can even legitimately field a list of Saints QB's worthy of appearing on a "Top-10" list.. To further prove how bad our QB room has been historically, we go through a fun exercise of taking our top TWO QB's - outside of Brees - and determining how many other teams can stake a better claim than the Saints with only their Top TWO QB's of all-time. We don't believe we're the "worst", but we don't beat many teams. All of this is to say, HOPEFULLY D.CARR STARTS TO CHANGE THIS! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 15 | THE 2000 SAINTS – A Look Back at the Season that Culminated with the Saints’ First Ever Playoff Win; What were the season’s best moments? Favorite Players? Most Fun Saints Team Ever?

“HAKIM DROPS THE BALL! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!” We all remember how the book of the 2000 Saints Season ended, the iconic 870 AM call of Jim Henderson poetically testifying at the top of his lungs that “THERE’S A GOD AFTER ALL!” and – for many of us – we remember exactly where we were for the franchise’s first ever playoff win against “The Greatest Show on Turf”. In this episode we of course relive our own memories of that euphoric moment, but we also look back at the season as a whole. Did the turn of the century Saints team represent a turn of the corner for the overall fortunes and future of the franchise? In that pre-Payton/Brees era, far enough separated from the glory days of the Dome Patrol, thoughts of entering the 2000s with a legitimate winning team, much less a winning record, seemed to be wishful thinking at best - and talk of actually winning a playoff game reserved only for those willing to be ridiculed for having their head in the clouds (or stuck up their own…far less sunny region). BUT – everything changed in that 2000 season… This episode dives in depth into one of the most fun cast of characters the Saints have ever had, the feeling of hope turned into legitimate optimism then actual confidence in the team’s ability to win consistently. The 2000 Saints were, if nothing else, a damn fun ride and opened our eyes to the possibility that a team in Black and Gold could actually compete against the NFL’s best in the modern game; and ultimately, gave us the best moment – at that time – we had yet to experience as fans. Come along for the ride as we jump back to the year 2000 and trade memories and dive into that historic season!
