Ep. 54 | Saints vs. Rams PREVIEW POD - Can we keep the winning momentum going on a short week?

Can the Saints actually do something that's seemed impossible so far this year and string together TWO strong performances? We all agree the Saints will need one, heading across the country to L.A. on a short week for their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Rams. We breakdown the matchup of the Rams passing offense vs. Saints secondary, which we agree seems to be a "strength vs. strength" matchup. Also, what can we expect out of the Saints offense vs. the Ram's D? Is that more of a "weakness vs. weakness" matchup? Also, there are no shortage of tangents explored in this one, like: What are the best away games we've all been to? Did Corey really tuck in his jersey for one of them in 2010? We also go back into the Giants game and ask (as has been the case previously this season) - WHERE TF WAS AK in the first series?? This one unexpectedly turned into a fun, debate/opinion-heavy episode. Definitely worth a listen. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 53 | RECAP of the SAINTS WIN vs. the Giants - A Decisive Drubbing of Devito

Just like we all "expected", the Saints showed out on Sunday with a decisive victory over the New York Football Giants, who came in riding the Tommy Cutlets Devito wave of momentum. For the first time in what seems like a season ago, the Saints played complimentary football, and we get into the plays, and players, of the game that made it happen. Who do we think showed out the most on both offense and defense for the Black & Gold? PLUS - looking big picture - what does this win, at this point in the season, mean for the Saints playoff hopes? We breakdown whether we think the Saints performance on Sunday is something that we'll see again over the last three games of the season, especially in L.A. coming off a short week. LISTEN IN as we cover the high points of the win and the outlook for the all-important final stretch! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 52 | GIANTS PREVIEW POD - Can the Saints down Devito in the Dome?

Our Saints enter their THIRD straight home game by welcoming America's favorite new Jersey Boy Tawmmy 'Cutlets' Devito (and his Sopranos extra-looking agent). It's a tale of two vibes coming in. The Saints are coming off of what is described by many as their most disappointing victory, possibly ever; while the Giants come in after a last second victory, riding the Devito wave. Oh - and there's a small issue known as Saquon Barkley, which many seem to have forgot about amidst all the Tommy Cutlets hysteria. So, needless to say, we talk actual football in this one, not hollywood-italy storylines and debate what the Saints will actually need to do to get yet another much needed win. Can they pull it off and get back to .500 on the year? LISTEN IN and find out! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 51 | PANTHERS RECAP - The most disappointing 22 point Saints victory ever?

In any other year a 22 point victory would be a great win, but...as we know all to well at this point, this is not any other year. Whatever side of the Derek Carr fence you stand on, it was obvious that all of the boo's were more than deserved. Plus, at times, even though they allowed only 6 points, even the defense looked somewhat out of sorts, especially allowing over 200 yards on the ground. Thank god, though, for our DB's who showed up big with multiple passes defensed of Bryce Young. Of course, there are some positives to take away, but in this one we discuss how - despite a large margin of victory - we somehow feel worse about our prospects going forward than we did before the game. Do you agree? LISTEN IN and find out! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 50 | Saints vs. Panthers PREVIEW POD - Plus NFL/Saints-related tangents and other stuff

This episode is "technically" a Saints vs. Panthers Preview Pod, but...when there's only so much to talk about with the team coming into the Dome and there's so much that's already been said about our consistently broken record of a team this year, you allow yourself to just take the scenic route, stay "off" track, and embrace whatever tangent conversations you find yourself in about the NFL, hypothetical draft scenarios that didn't happen, and a lot of "coulda wouda shouda's" that have absolutely nothing to do with the upcoming game. That said, this one actually turned into one of the more fun hour plus episodes we've done. And, yes, we still wrapped it up with our Panther's game predictions and game MVP predictions. This is a fun one. LISTEN IN! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 49 | LIONS RECAP - Saints showed fight, but the inconsistency remains consistent

No one can question the amount of fight in the Saints PLAYERS after the way they came back to make a game of it versus the Lions, but the lack of consistency and yet another slow start on defense shines the light right back on the COACHING of this team. It was yet another week of saying "yeah, we saw some good things..." but also saying "we saw some really horrible stuff" as well. Some may say playing one of the NFC's top teams to the final possession was a "better" outcome than we thought we'd see after last week; but it's another chapter in a very predictable book. In this episode we talk about that rollercoaster of good vs. bad we saw in this one. We also talk about how this was another example of the Saints following the same model they've set up for pretty much the entire season: Playing the good teams close but still losing, and playing down to the bad teams and pulling out a win - with the exception of a few games. Was this game really one that set up a "debate" of Carr vs. Jameis? or was it a game that showed us that we really just don't have any "good" option at the QB position? Is it none of the above? We get into the team's performance against the Lions and what, if anything, we can take away from the game heading into the final weeks of the year.

Ep. 48 | SAINTS vs. LIONS PREVIEW

No rest for the weary. Coming off an awful loss, the Saints come back home to the dome banged up, tattered, and torn to face the best team left in the schedule. Don’t worry though! We breakdown our Saints path to pulling out a victory on Sunday. …and it’s the smallest possible path ever with virtually no room for error that will very likely require perfection…”So, you’re sayin there’s a chance?!” Technically, we are, but we’re not feeling all too warm and fuzzy about it, more like the opposite of whatever that is. BUT, this is our team, and if they’re playing, we’re pulling for them to get the W. LISTEN IN to hear our takes on this one. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 47 | RECAP - Saints vs. Falcons - Failure to Take Control

There it was, an absolute gem of an opportunity to take firm control of the NFC South - a chance to have been two games up in the standings on the closest team with six games remaining; but, instead, we ended up with a COMPLETE FAILURE to take control. Is this a negative spot to be as a franchise? ABSOLUTELY. Are our takes on this game and the outlook going forward just as negative? You betcha. Once again, we saw our Saints in a position to take control of something. Only this time, it wasn't just a game they failed to put away - it was the entire division and a great pathway forward into the playoffs. How did they do it? You guessed it - with more inconsistent, underachieving, and inopportunistic play from just about every position on the field. In this episode we breakdown much of what went wrong, and what now can be done to somehow right the ship or just ride the wave to the end of the season, hoping for the best. We wish there was more good to talk about, but now the team - like many of us - is unfortunately in need of some help. All we know is MUCH has to change, but will it? Can it? LISTEN IN to hear our takes on this whole new situation we find ourselves in. WHO DAT?!

Ep. 46 | F*CK THE FALCONS - SAINTS VS. FALCONS PREVIEW

It's the most wonderful time of the year here at the 28 to 3 Podcast - it's the middle of the first Falcons Hate Week of the year, and we're diving into the preview of what is truly a season defining matchup in Atlanta. As Max points out in this one, there is definitely some animosity shared by us (at least Max and Corey) towards DA for perhaps not instilling as much confidence as in years past heading into this one - thus dumbing down the amount of shit talk thrown the way of Falcons fans during hate week. But, rest assured, if we come out of ATL with a W, we WILL absolutely be letting them know! That is, largely, because a WIN this week would give our Saints a commanding lead in the division and put them securely in the NFC South driver's seat. But...the big question - and a lot of what we get into in this episode - is can they do it? Coming off of a bye, you'd seriously hope they can get their act together, but what exactly is going to be that formula? How confident are we feeling about it? We get into that and a whole lot more in this SAINTS VS. FALCONS edition of the 28 to 3 Podcast. GO LISTEN! WHO DAT?!

Ep. 45 | TOP TEN ALL-TIME SAINTS EPISODE

Took some time this week before we preview the game against that team we hate the most, and Max, Nick, and Corey each compiled their list of the top ten All-time Saints players. This one was interesting to say the least. While all three lists had many of the same players, one of us (guess who) had a glaring omission that absolutely set off the debate and got argument HEATED. The takes are hot in this one, and it’s a tough task to narrow down the last few spots on the top 10, but overall this episode brought out some fun discussion about all of our all-time favorite Saints players. Definitely a MUST LISTEN!
