YinzCenter's NHL Trade Deadline Extravaganza: Embrace the Tank, go Celibate for Celebrini

Esplicito
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline has officially passed, the Penguins sold assets and you are thinking "What is this? This team gets REAL players at the deadline, not prospects. Some listeners might actually not remember what it's like for the Penguins to sell assets as the last time the team actually did that was probably the 2004 deadline (20 freaking years ago, can you believe it??). If you find yourself in that boat, YinzCenter will be glad to let you know that it's not doom and gloom, but an ugly, necessary reality of what needed to be addressed. Do you really think locking up ANOTHER 30+ year old player to ANOTHER $6M+ contract is a good idea? Of course it isn't. It's time to embrace the tank and let some lottery balls determine our future We break down the ugly necessities of trading Guentzel, we decide we are going Celibate for (Macklin) Celebrini in hopes the Pens receive the first overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and we grade EVERY #NHLTradeDeadline deal that went down in our NHL Trade Deadline Extravaganza!!

YinzCenter's NHL Trade Deadline & March Basketball Previews

On this week's special Leap Year episode of YinzCenter, the Penguins roar back to life and make this next week very interesting, Nevin succeeds in his efforts to derail Cody's train of thought with more Remember When's, and we preview what to expect from local college basketball teams (hint: it's not much). With the NHL trade deadline on Friday, March 8th, we will drop our next episode on Friday so we can give you a full instant analysis of all of the moves Mr. Dubas makes, as well as across the rest of the NHL!

YinzCenter Presents: Remembering When with Camdon Porterfield

This week, the boys pluck Camdon Porterfield out of the Westmoreland County Courthouse to reminisce about his old sports media career with the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, we brace for the worst with the Pittsburgh Penguins, confirm our own rumors after The Athletic's article on Pirates owner Bob Nutting was out, and relive the days of the street hockey league on the dangerous, falling apart, Hempfield Area High School tennis courts. Seriously, be prepared for the worst with this Penguin team, trades have to come soon and it will be names yinzers will miss.

YinzCenter Presents: This Hockey Team F***ing Sucks

Esplicito
So much for crunch time...the Penguins lost three in a row since the last episode and we're hoping some good ol fashion pessimism will get this team firing again. Seems like our pessimism fuels them sometimes, maybe we're just crazy. We extinguish some flames on the Steelers getting every available quarterback and we break down the bleakness of the big stretch as we find out Jake Guentzel will be unavailable for the Penguins almost the whole way towards the NHL trade deadline.

YinzCenter Presents: Penguin Crunch Time Begins NOW

Last week we named you eight potential future cities for the NHL to get to 40 teams and we now present you a mini series to help us name the "potential teams" starting off with a potential Salt Lake City team name. We have some optimism in the Penguins again after a 3-0 win over WInnipeg on February 6th and we begin to think of some value trade ideas for Mr. Dubas to consider as the trade deadline approaches

YinzCenter Presents: Nevin gets BIG MAD during the NHL All-Star Break

Esplicito
With NHL action in a slow stretch and the league trying to cover up questionable headlines with even more questionable headlines, Nevin breaks down his thoughts on the Hockey Canada scandal, bashes Flyers GM Daniel Briere, his no-name son, and the Flyers organization. And since NHL reporters keep bringing up expansion possibilities, we decide to present our route to expanding the NHL to FOURTY TEAMS!

YinzCenter Presents: Greensburg is Fed Up with Xfinity

Esplicito
Between the last two lackluster efforts from the Penguins and not being able to watch the games without paying for a "premium channel package" while paying for a "regional sports fee", we finally blow off some steam, analyze potential trade options for the Penguins as the deadline approaches and we don't break down the Steelers offensive coordinator search at all, because we all know they'll just bring back someone like Byron Leftwich.

YinzCenter presents: Snowmageddon 2024

With the Steelers eliminated from NFL postseason play, the Penguins playing sparingly the past week, and a lethal amount of snow heading towards the Pittsburgh area, the YinzCenter boys break down who has impressed us halfway through the NHL season, our fan mail segment makes a return, and we ask Nevin tough questions, such as if he can walk in his dreams.

YinzCenter's Pittsburgh Football Playoff Preview

The seventh seeded Steelers head to snowy Buffalo to take on the Bills in the first round of the NFL post season, we break down what to expect with an injured TJ Watt. Other things we discuss this week: Philadelphia's Cutter Gauthier drama, the Penguins past week and upcoming week, Better Call Saul, and of course, another murder.

A Good Man: The YinzCenter Story

YinzCenter is back in 2024! The Penguins look like they're back in form after a few wins, trying to come back from a 4-0 hole against Washington and a 6-5 win over the B's in Boston. The Steelers are looking to get back into the playoffs once again as they take on the backups of the Ravens and Cody is back from PPG Paints Arena with a new frenemy in Joel Hofer.
