G'day and God bless, fellow Withstanders, On my walk this morning, I listened to Pastor JD Farag’s (Calvary Kaneohe, Hawaii) latest prophecy update and he encouraged his congregation and listeners by reminding us that Bible Prophecy is a gift that is not given to us to scare, but rather, prepare us for what will soon take place. As I scan the headlines across (mostly) mainstream media today, it’s clear – and has been for a few years now - that their pr*pag*nda is designed to keep us perpetually standing on tectonic plates that keep us consistently on edge; worried about when they’ll shift again, for how long and at what cost. But of course, they punctuate this constant state of uneasiness with occasional moments of calm and feel good moments, which can disarm us and create a false sense of security. In other words, their agenda is to give and take from us at will, while God’s Bible Prophecy, God’s will is a gift that gives us hope and takes away the fear of the unknown; providing we’re right with the Lord. We’ll take a look at some of today’s headlines and reflect on some of the ways that we can prepare for the events that seem to be approaching at breakneck speed. G'day and God bless, fellow Withstanders, Well, another weekend, another fresh serving of narrative designed to buffet us from one so-called crisis to another and in turn, lurch us from one powerful emotion to another. While we were still catching our breath over stock market drops, we learnt that a new pl*nd*mic is looming in parallel with UFO sightings and earthquakes in diverse places. Holding on tight to God’s Word in this fallen, shaken (and stirred) world has never been more necessary. Today, we’ll take a look at some of the most recent headlines and given the daily wrestle with despair we’re no doubt experiencing, we’ll reflect on the role of lamentation in these times. Our podcast exists to share resources, tips, musings and most importantly, scripture with fellow Christians and curious Agnostics who crave direction through these days of deception. We might be a little amateur hour in our output, but our subject matter happens to be best-in-class in all things, so we take great comfort in that. G'day fellow Withstanders, I don’t know about you but since a certain pandemic took place four years ago, whenever I hear the authorities say that they’re doing this or that for our protection, I get a little suspicious…I look a little like the side-eye emoji I’ve used with sheer abandon in recent years. Especially when I believe there are people and situations that desperately need actual protection from harm. We’ll take a look at some of the most recent headlines from around the globe and do a slightly deeper dive into a couple of ways Australia and America are, in my view, creating problems that don’t need solutions, thereby misusing the true definition of ‘protection’. What would living in the days of Babylon look like today? Vision.org.au notes that the biblical city of Babylon was a symbol of evil, corruption and tyranny. The pagan culture rejected God, worshipped false gods, and was influenced by false prophets. Sound familiar? Hello friends, In his book, Mere Christianity, CS Lewis writes “Enemy-occupied territory--that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us to take part in a great campaign of sabotage.” As Christians who are awake, we see so many demonic divots in the dirt of so many enemy-occupied lands and a few recent examples in particular, have taken my breath away. So much so, that they could only have come from the enemy’s pit. It’s an extremely heavy topic, but it’s been weighing on my heart even more so than usual. I speak of those who actually celebrate the murder of children. We’ll cover a couple of items that we desperately need to pray for and if possible, take action on in today’s Withstand Daily Podcast. G'day fellow Withstanders, The Bible tells us in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 12, Verse 3 that “Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the rooftops.” For those of us who are awake, we’ve been well aware for some time now that the ‘powers that be’ have shone a light on things they want us to see and hear, while supressing those things they don’t wish us to see and hear. But is it just me, or does it seem as if we’ve experienced this on steroids lately? G'day fellow Withstanders, At the risk of playing into the mainstream media's rhetoric right now, it really does feel like many of our economic and civil institutions are collapsing before our eyes; or at the very least, are on their knees. While we’re being urged to ‘buckle up’ and hold on tight, I’m reminded that the wonderful Dr Charles Stanley once declared that “we stand tallest and strongest on our knees”. We’ll look at what Dr Stanley meant by this in light of all that seems to be falling apart, but for us believers, is actually falling into place.
