Pentecost Sunday 2025

Join us for Pentecost Sunday 2025

The Beatitudes Series | Week 5: "Blessed Are the Merciful" - June 1, 2025

The Beatitudes Series | Week 5: "Blessed Are the Merciful" In this episode, we dive into Matthew 5:7—“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Mercy isn’t just feeling sorry for someone—it’s compassion in action. Jesus isn’t talking about occasional acts of kindness; He’s describing a posture, a way of life. The Greek word used here (eleēmones) means a person whose heart is shaped by mercy, not just someone who does merciful things. It’s not about reacting—it’s about reflecting the character of God. We explore: How mercy is rooted in the nature of God Himself (Psalm 103, Ephesians 2, Lamentations 3) Why real mercy comes from seeing rightly—recognizing we’ve been forgiven much What Cinderella can teach us about union with Christ and our new identity The struggle to show compassion when we’ve been hurt—especially by the Church Why love—not fear—is the bond of unity in the Kingdom And how we practically live out mercy even when it's hardest to give If you’ve ever wrestled with bitterness, unforgiveness, or church hurt… this message will help reframe mercy not as something we muster up, but something we’ve already received—and now reflect. Scriptures Referenced: Matthew 5:7, Psalm 103:8–10, Lamentations 3:22–23, Ephesians 2:4–5, Hebrews 2:14–18, Micah 6:8, Luke 6:35–36, Colossians 3:12–15 For more from this series or to connect with us, visit truenorth731.com or follow True North Church on social media.

HOMECOMING 2025, The Beatitudes Series week 4 - May 25th, 2025

The Beatitudes Series – Week 4 | Homecoming Sunday Matthew 5:6 – “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” This Homecoming Sunday at True North, we didn’t just gather—we aligned. Pastor Lindsey Melton Jr. unpacks what it means to hunger and thirst for righteousness, not as a someday reward but as a present reality. Drawing from Matthew 5:6, James 1, and the deep well of Church tradition, we’re reminded that righteousness isn’t a moral checklist—it’s harmony with the heart of God. This is a call to live in tune with the whole symphony of God's will—at school drop-off, ballgames, grocery stores, and senior centers alike. Because of Jesus, we don’t just visit righteousness… we become it. In Him, we live, move, and have our being. Tune in to hear: 🎵 Why spiritual hunger is a grace 🎵 How righteousness means alignment, not achievement 🎵 What it looks like to live daily in harmony with heaven 🎵 A powerful word of blessing for legacy and future generations “They shall be filled.” Not with fleeting pleasure—but with the fullness of divine union.

The Beatitudes Week 3 May 19th, 2025 Baptism Sunday!!!

The Beatitudes Series // Week Three – “Blessed Are the Meek” 📍True North Church | truenorth731.com This week at True North, we continued our deep dive into the Beatitudes with a message from Matthew 5:5 — “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” But don’t confuse meekness with weakness. Jesus isn’t calling us to shrink back—He’s inviting us to walk in power under control, to live with a strength that is submitted, steady, and surrendered. "Meek" in the Greek—praus—carries the force of a trained warhorse: powerful, yet fully yielded to the rider. In this message, we uncover what it means to live this kind of life—not by force or self-assertion, but by radical trust in God. We’re called to think like citizens of heaven, rooted in Christ, unshaken by earthly noise. And today wasn’t just a message—it was a celebration. It was Baptism Sunday! We witnessed the beauty of new life, as several were raised to life in Christ, declaring that they belong to Him. 🕊️ Watch or listen now and be reminded: the blessed life isn’t about striving—it’s about surrender. 🎧 Available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and at truenorth731.com

The Beatitudes week 1 - Sunday May 4th, 2025

In this episode, we kick off our new series on The Beatitudes by diving into Matthew 5:1–3. Jesus begins His most famous sermon not with commands, but with a blessing—spoken over the kind of people the world often overlooks. What does it mean to be “poor in spirit”? It’s not about financial lack, but spiritual humility—knowing we are completely dependent on God. Jesus uses the word makários to describe a present state of divine approval, not a future reward. You are already blessed—not because life is easy, but because your heart is turned toward Heaven. We also connect this truth with Isaiah 57:15 and 66:2, showing how Jesus fulfills the prophetic vision of a God who draws near to the humble and contrite. The Beatitudes are more than beautiful words—they are a blueprint for Kingdom living. 🎧 Listen now and explore what it means to be truly blessed.

Post Resurrection - April 28th 2025

This week, we journey down the road to Emmaus with two disillusioned followers—and the risen Christ Himself. Drawing from Luke 24:13–35, Pastor Lindsey unpacks how Jesus meets us in our doubt, searches the temperature of our hearts, and kindles a fire of faith within us. Even when we can’t see Him, He is leading us to deeper discovery. We explore how Christ revealed Himself through the Scriptures, from Adam to the Prophets, showing that all of history points to Him. In the breaking of the bread, their eyes were opened—and so are ours. In this powerful post-Resurrection message, be reminded: when Jesus speaks, hearts burn, hope rises, and dead dreams are resurrected. Key Scriptures: Luke 24:13–35, Jeremiah 17:10, Psalm 139:1–2, 1 Chronicles 28:9 Listen in and let your heart burn again with the life only Jesus can give.

"Atonement" - Resurrection Sunday/ Easter 2025

This Easter message from True North Church explores the deep, redemptive meaning behind Jesus’ death and resurrection. In this episode, we unpack: - The meaning of atonement through the Hebrew word kapar — to cover, to cancel, to reconcile - How Adam and Eve’s fig leaves, Noah’s ark, and Jesus’ blood all point to one truth: we need to be covered - Why the cross wasn’t just about forgiveness—but about union with God - How Jesus came to undo everything Adam did and bring us back into oneness with the Father You were created for communion—not separation. Through Christ, we’ve been made whole again. 📖 “He Himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.” —1 John 2:2 Whether you’re curious, hurting, or hungry for hope—this message will speak to the deepest parts of you.

Palm Sunday 2025

Palm Sunday 2025: What Happened in the Gap? Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ celebrated entry into Jerusalem—but what happened in the gap between “Hosanna!” and “Crucify Him!”? In this powerful message, Pastor Lindsey walks us through Luke 19 and John 13, helping us reflect on the moments between the moments—where life is truly formed. While the crowd expected a conquering King to overthrow Rome, Jesus came as a suffering Servant who washed feet—including Judas’. This episode explores: Why the crowd's expectations were shattered What Palm Sunday reveals about Jesus' identity as both King and Servant The danger of living for the applause of others The grace that still kneels to wash us—even in betrayal We’re invited to ask: Have we made room in our hearts for this King? Do we need Him to wash some things off of us today?
