"Participation" wk 1 October 2026 series

PARTICIPATION — WEEK ONE Partnering with God’s will in the earth, not against it. What are you doing with the “few things” God has already placed in your hands? In Matthew 25:14–25, Jesus tells a parable about stewardship, faithfulness, fear, and fruitfulness. The Kingdom of God isn’t about comparing what we’ve been given to what someone else has—it’s about faithfully participating with God with what He has entrusted to us. This week, we’re talking about what it means to stop waiting for “more,” stop allowing fear to keep us frozen, and start actively partnering with the will of God right where we are. We’ll discover that participation requires us to: • Identify which team we’re on. • Learn the playbook of Jesus. • Execute the play. Don’t hoard the goodness of God. Be the city on a hill. Be the lamp on the lampstand. Share your testimony. Live like you’ve been sent from Heaven. When we are faithful with the few things God has trusted us with in our everyday lives, we are working WITH His will in the earth—not against it. DEEPER week 3 - September 20th, 2026

In Week 3 of Deeper, we look at what happens when life takes us into the depths of anguish, disappointment, and resentment—and discover that even there, we still have a choice about which voice we respond to. In 1 Samuel 1, Hannah is overwhelmed by pain, yet instead of allowing her suffering to drive her away from God, she turns toward Him in prayer. Her story reminds us that Jesus draws us toward Himself, while the enemy seeks to lure us away. Peter warns us that our adversary prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Our response is to stand firm in the faith—to plant our feet in the place God is calling us and refuse to be moved. And when God answers Hannah’s prayer, she does something remarkable: she gives her answered prayer back to the Lord. Her son Samuel grows up in the presence of God, eventually learning to recognize the voice that is calling him. The deeper walk with God requires us to face three realities: God is calling us. Jesus is drawing us. And the enemy is trying to lure us. The question is: Whose call are you responding to? Are you being drawn by Jesus—or lured by the roaring lion? "Deeper" series WEEK 2 - September 13th, 2026

In Week 2 of Deeper, Pastor Lindsey continues through 1 Corinthians 2 with a simple truth: without the Holy Spirit, we cannot access the deeper things of God. The Holy Spirit is not reserved for a denomination, a personality type, or a certain kind of church. He is the Counselor Jesus promised—the One who teaches us, reminds us of the words of Christ, reveals the heart of God, and empowers us to live as His people. In this message, we explore the baptism and power of the Holy Spirit, what Scripture actually teaches about speaking in tongues, how praying in the Spirit builds us up, and what happens when we don’t even know what to pray. Romans 8 reminds us that the Spirit Himself intercedes for us and brings us into alignment with the will of God. The invitation is not simply to know more about God, but to go deeper with Him. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you. What if going deeper with God isn’t about going down, but being invited higher? In Week One of our September series, “Deeper,” we explore Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 2 and discover that the deeper things of God are revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. Following Jesus was never meant to be reduced to information, rules, or religious performance—it is an invitation into a real, experiential relationship with the living God. Jesus came so that we could know the Father, live in fellowship with Him, recognize His presence, hear His voice, and learn to see life from His perspective. The invitation is simple: “Pick me up. Let me see what You see. Bring me into Your way of seeing and doing things.” Because we are in Christ, experiencing God’s presence isn’t reserved for special moments or special people. Re-vision 2026: As it is in Heaven WEEK THREE

We become what we behold. In Week 3, we explore spiritual formation—the lifelong work of the Holy Spirit shaping our inward lives until our minds, hearts, desires, and actions come into harmony with the life of Jesus. Paul described his desire for believers as “Christ being formed in you” (Galatians 4:19). But how does that formation actually happen? Through worship—not simply singing songs, but through what we continually exalt, focus on, and give our attention to. Formation is the byproduct of what we exalt. From Israel and the golden calf to Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 3:18, Scripture reveals a powerful truth: we become like who or what we worship. Worshiping idols deforms us; worshiping Jesus transforms us into His likeness. So how do we behold Jesus? We gaze upon Him through Scripture, encounter Him through the sacraments, seek Him privately through prayer, fasting, and worship, and allow ourselves to be formed publicly through life with the body of Christ. You can’t be Christlike if you only look at Christ on Sundays. Spiritual formation is an everyday invitation to fix our eyes on Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to form His life in us.

The world is loud—but you don’t have to listen to the noise. In Numbers 13–14, twelve leaders saw the same promised land, the same giants, and the same obstacles, yet Joshua and Caleb heard something different. The enemy didn’t keep Israel from what God promised—the noise of fear, insecurity, and unbelief did. In Week 2 of our series, Pastor Lindsey teaches on the biblical practice of fasting and how it helps us turn down the noise of a fallen world so we can hear the voice of God more clearly. Fasting isn’t simply giving something up—it’s intentionally denying the flesh and replacing it with prayer, worship, and seeking God. It brings us back into alignment, deepens our dependence on the Lord, and positions us to hear His direction. You don’t have to listen to the noise. Jesus didn't come to create a new standard; He came to reveal the Father's. If we've seen Jesus, we've seen the Father. Therefore, we don't mirror our way—we mirror Yahweh. Using practical illustrations—from Dollar General's mission to reach underserved communities to Ray Kroc's insistence on staying true to the McDonald's brand—we explore what it looks like for followers of Jesus to become conduits of God's Kingdom in everyday life. God has strategically placed you in someone's "hope desert" so that Christ in you, the hope of glory, can reach them. This message is a call to stay on brand with the heart of Jesus by walking in the Spirit, clothing ourselves with mercy, kindness, forgiveness, humility, and patience, and asking one life-changing question: "Is this how it's done in Lexington... or is this how it's done in Heaven?" Join us as we pray for our teachers and students, recommit ourselves to carrying Heaven into our community, and prepare our hearts for our upcoming New Testament reading plan and 21 Days of Fasting.
