Scott & Steve Improv Presents: Kid Shoulda Moved
Welcome to the first episode of Scott & Steve Improv Presents! For our first session, we sat down together in a library and recorded the teaser, then since we were there with mics we rolled into what we present here. When Carl sees his neighbor is dealing with something, he reaches out to see if he can lend an ear or a few words of advice. Old friends hash out a plan to get past recent changes that have reshaped the way they live their lives while learning new things about each others lives. Boards thrown, siblings with slow reflexes, and a little self-reflection on who we want to be.

Welcome to Scott & Steve Improv Presents: The Trailer, where you meet Scott and Steve and hear what we're planning for this podcast. We're not the typical team you'd find in your local improv scene. We don't play games, we have a frame of reference that Baby Boomers and Gen-X will identify with, and we like to find a story. To find it we do the simplest thing... we look at each other, listen, and then try to be honest and truthful in our responses to each other as it unfolds. We're influenced by the roots of improv in Chicago, and the idea that truthfulness in the moment is the most valuable thing we can present. We believe that trying to be funny almost always ends in disaster, and that life is already funny, so if we can just accurately reflect life, we'll entertain someone. We believe that it's okay to take a pause on stage, but in a podcast we know we're gonna have to tighten it up since our audience won't be able to see what we're doing. And we believe that while we explore podcasting as an improv medium, we'll keep learning what works and what doesn't and that will lead to even better episodes. Our goal is to release an episode every two weeks, although if we can pick up the pace you can bet we'll do that. The longest pole in this tent is Steve learning the production side of putting out a podcast, so let's hope he picks it up quick.
