This is the first of three short readings from the powerful book "A Pot of Oil" written by G.D. Watson and published in 1900. On today's podcast, Brother Ed reads this chapter, which focuses on the call of every Christian, in that there is a call to being a vessel of prayer.

Webster's 1828 defines vessels literally as a vat or container of something, so we're called to be containers of prayers from the Holy Spirit. Note the progression that comes as we mature in Christ, which is evidenced in our prayer life. One thing that Brother Watson didn't talk about in this short chapter, is the devil's reaction to our calling as vessels. He will do everything possibly to side-track from God's purpose in our lives, so we must learn to walk in the spirit lest the devil divert us.
