Hospitality Honors

On a twelve-to-fifteen-hour detail at Magic Johnson's house, the Johnsons' staff took the security team downstairs to rest between shifts and later invited them upstairs to a party with Hollywood stars — honor that restored dignity and made the team feel they belonged. Romans 12:10, Hebrews 13:2, the Shunammite woman, and Matthew 25:40 frame the principle: honor flows in both directions, and the leaders people never forget are the ones who let honor flow down to the people nobody else notices. Three habits close it: learn the names of the people who serve you, create specific moments of honor, and make your space a place of welcome.
