The Myth of the Unprepared
You Weren't Caught Off Guard. God Wasn't Either.
Question of the Day
What if the very thing you feel least equipped to face is the exact thing God has spent your whole life preparing you for?
Encouragement & Reflection
Let's be honest for a second. Some seasons just hit different.
Not the everyday kind of hard. The kind that makes you wonder if you misheard God somewhere along the way. Where you're doing everything right, and the pressure still won't let up. Where you're tired, not the kind sleep can fix. Tired in your spirit.
And right there, a familiar voice starts whispering: You're not equipped for this. You're not strong enough. You were never built to carry this.
Let me tell you what that voice is. A liar.
Because before you were ever formed, God already saw this exact moment coming. He didn't panic when the diagnosis came back, when the relationship fell apart, when the job disappeared, when the ministry you poured into started to unravel.
He was already there. Already working. Already equipping.
Look at Moses. Forty years in the wilderness before God called him to lead a nation. Forty years, and not one of them wasted. Every day in that desert built something the palace in Egypt never could: humility, patience, dependence on God over his own strength.
What looked like a detour was actually development.
Your season might feel like a detour too. But God doesn't work in interruptions; He works in intentions. Every hard thing He's allowed has a purpose. The same God who set you apart before your first breath has equipped you for the road you're on.
You are not unprepared.
You are being prepared. Right now. In this.
Action Items
- Name the lie. What has this season been trying to convince you about yourself that contradicts what God says? Write it down, then write the truth from Scripture beside it. You can't fight a lie you've never named.
- Trace the preparation.Look back, not just the wins, the valleys. Where did God build something in you that comfort never could? Preparation in your past is proof of His faithfulness for your present.
- Speak it before you feel it. Say it out loud today: "I am qualified for this. God has already equipped me." Not because it feels true, because what God says over you outranks what your circumstances scream.
Closing Prayer
Father, I won't pretend this is easy. But I refuse to let the pressure tell me something You never said. You knew this moment was coming. You knew my name before I had one. If You allowed this, You've already equipped me for it. Where I feel weak, be my strength. Where I feel unqualified, remind me You chose me first. I'm not unprepared. I'm Yours. And that is enough. In Jesus' name, Amen.
