Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Hawaii Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd. Alright folks, this isn't your typical Monday. A low-level trough is marching through the islands right now. And it's bringing the kind of weather that makes you double-check your rain gutters. We're talking heavy rain, thunderstorms. And flood threats for most of the state. The National Weather Service has a Flood Watch up for every island except the Big Island.. Though they're not exactly dry either. Let's break it down. Oahu, you're in the thick of it. Thunderstorms kick off at 1 A.M. Tonight with a 65 percent chance of heavy rain. Winds flip from east-northeast to north around 5 A.M..
