    Episode 14 - Vikki Meakins

Vikki shares her biggest mistake with her Rottweiler puppy, Sasha, who became reactive. She initially did well in training and achieved Kennel Club Good Citizens Gold, but at around 18 months old, Sasha started becoming more reactive. Vikki made the mistake of withdrawing food rewards and continued exposing Sasha to other dogs without reinforcing good behavior. This led to Sasha's reactivity worsening. Vikki also experienced anxiety as a dog owner and felt limited in where she could walk Sasha. She eventually found relief by walking in quieter areas and focusing on enjoying their time together. Vikki's experience has influenced her approach to raising her own dogs and working with clients' dogs, emphasizing the importance of managing emotions and providing appropriate socialization.

Episode 10 - Dr Isla Fishburn Part 1

Dr. Isla Fishburn discusses the importance of allowing dogs to be unapologetically themselves and embracing their individuality. She emphasizes the need to let go of preconceived notions and expectations of how dogs should behave and instead focus on understanding and accepting their unique personalities. Isla also explores the concept of dogs as spiritual messengers, coming into our lives to teach us important lessons and help us heal. She encourages dog guardians to embrace their own emotions and engage in shadow work, using their dogs as mirrors to uncover and integrate unresolved emotions. Dogs are in our lives to be the elixir to our spiritual amnesia and to help us wake up. Nourishment for dogs and humans is not just physical, but also mental, emotional, and spiritual. There is a growing acceptance of the emotional and spiritual aspects of dogs, but there is still a negative stigma around spirituality. Dogs help us accept ourselves and reflect on our own self-care. www.kachinacanine.com FB: Isla Fishburn (personal) and Kachina Canine Wellness (Business) Youtube: Dr Isla Fishburn - Kachina Canine (https://www.youtube.com/@drislafishburn-kachinacani1312) Books: https://www.thegreatbritishbookshop.co.uk/products/tunkasilas-teachings-hb?_pos=1&_sid=06e635d16&_ss=r https://www.thegreatbritishbookshop.co.uk/products/how-the-canine-people-helped-the-humans-return-to-ceremony?_pos=1&_sid=b37ac05bd&_ss=r
