Note sull'episodio
Is Wisconsin ready for a Black governor—and are voters being told the whole story?
This episode of Cold World gets straight into Wisconsin politics and the governor’s race.
DVJ and Michelle break down campaign advertising, fact-check some of the claims being made, and question whether political ads should be allowed to make statements that voters may not have the time—or the information—to verify for themselves.
The conversation then gets bigger: race and politics in Wisconsin, representation, voting, and what it would mean if David Crowley became Wisconsin’s first Black governor. They talk openly about the significance of that possibility and why race still matters when looking at American political history.
The episode also gets into criminal justice, truth-in-sentencing, the cost of incarceration, prison policy, community investment, and whether building more prisons actually addresses the problems communities are facing.
And yes—there's plenty of Cold World in between. 😂
The Brewers, Packers, football season, drunk driving, breakfast runs, Milwaukee life, music, Chris Brown vs. Usher, and plenty of those everyday conversations that somehow turn into bigger discussions.
Plus, DVJ and Michelle talk about AOC and the possibility of her running for president, including why they believe listeners should actually research candidates before deciding what they think about them.
Politics. Race. Money. Criminal justice. Representation. Music. Milwaukee.
No polished political show. No pretending everyone agrees.
Just DVJ & Michelle saying what they think and letting the conversation go where it goes.
