On this episode of Cold World w/ DVJ & Michelle, it’s another one of those conversations where you never quite know where the next topic is going to take you.
The episode opens with a disturbing Florida animal-abuse allegation involving a woman, her family dog, surveillance footage, and claims from friends that she was framed by her estranged husband. DVJ and Michelle talk through the allegations, the conflicting stories, and why sometimes you have to wait for the facts before deciding what really happened.
Then it’s back to everyday life.
DVJ takes listeners along for a real-life Milwaukee errand run—from grabbing laundry detergent and groceries to dealing with quarters, the bank, apartment laundry, rising rent, broken elevators, potholes, and all the little things that can turn a simple trip to the store into a whole story.
There’s plenty of food talk, mushroom coffee, Chewy’s homemade meals, Packers football, Milwaukee sports radio, local personalities, grocery stores, driving habits, and the question everyone has probably asked at some point: Why don't people use their turn signals?!
But underneath all the jokes and everyday complaints is a bigger conversation about common courtesy, community, kindness, and empathy.
DVJ talks about leaving laundry supplies in the shared laundry room so neighbors can use them, and how one small act of kindness can create a ripple effect. The conversation turns into a reminder that sometimes doing something good for somebody doesn't have to be announced, posted, or rewarded.
You just do it.
And maybe that person does something good for someone else.
