BSD - Pioneer Update - Broadband Funds Available For Arkansans

Superintendent Dr. Michael Hester joins Gary B. this a.m. for an exciting update regarding Broadband Funds for our district and beyond! Application will be open May 12th! See more info below. FULL INFO BELOW: The federal government recently announced an incredible opportunity to further connect Broadband in our state! $3.2 billion has been allocated for the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB), a temporary program to help families struggling to afford broadband internet service. The program will provide up to $50 per month towards internet access in the home for eligible households PLUS up to $100 for a one-time discount to purchase a laptop, desktop computer or tablet from participating providers. Enrollment will be accepted beginning next Wednesday, May 12th! ** Apply Here or at GetEmergencyBroadband.org ** Please help us in spreading the word to your constituents about this unique opportunity as funds are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. SR Principal Dustin Rose joins us this morning to honor long time Board Director, George Latus. We held a district wide hat/pj day and all proceeds will go toward a Memorial Scholarship in George's name. Michelle Puckett, Preschool Director, is celebrating Arkansas Children's Week with a "Making Amazing Things Happen" theme! This week of celebration is 30 years running across the state of Arkansas. Our Preschool students will enjoy this event all week long with various obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, bubble art, and more with a focus around math!
