Luke 9:18-22
There are seasons I’d gladly keep and others I’d hurry through if I could. I don’t get to see the whole of God’s work. Peter names Jesus as the Christ, then hears about suffering and resurrection. Faith has to hold on through that whole promise. Calling him Lord means letting him tell us who he is, even when his words unsettle the picture we had in mind. That doesn’t make grief easy or give us every answer about what happens next. It gives us someone to trust while the answer is still beyond us. We can bring him our questions without pretending we already understand the timing, and keep doing the faithful thing that’s ours to do.
