Stagione 7

Uncanny Treks: Gotham City Sirens- Union (2010, Comic)

Gotham's bad girls go into business for themselves. Bob and Matt open Paul Dini's Gotham City Sirens with Union (vol. 1), collecting #1-7: Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn — tired of dancing to everyone else's tune — forge an alliance in the wreckage of post-Battle for the Cowl Gotham. Their partner of convenience? The Riddler. Guillem March's art makes every scheme look gorgeous. Matt's here for the heist energy; Bob's here to see if three of comics' most chaotic women can share a hideout without killing each other.

Uncanny Treks: Black Panther- All This And The World Too (2022, Comic)

Exile suits the Panther — almost. Bob and Matt finish John Ridley's Black Panther with All This and the World Too (vol. 3), where political strife banishes T'Challa from Wakanda and sends him back to the Avengers — just as terrorists seize control of global communications. The kicker: the conspiracy is eerily connected to Wakanda and T'Challa himself, and even Earth's Mightiest Heroes start questioning him. It's the end of Ridley's run, and the hosts ask the big one: did the king fall too far to stand back up?

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds S3E7 (2025, TV)

What is Starfleet, anyway? Bob and Matt tackle the Strange New Worlds episode that asks the question outright — an in-universe documentary shot by Beto Ortegas, who starts the episode thoroughly unimpressed with the whole enterprise. The mission: transport a Jikaru, a giant sentient space creature, for the Lutani's war with the Kasar — until Spock's mind-meld and Uhura's communion reveal the creature was tortured into a weapon, and it chooses the sun over servitude. Beto's conversion mirrors the audience's. Matt's a sucker for the thesis statement; Bob grades the execution.

Uncanny Treks: Black Panther- Range Wars (2022, Comic)

The Panther is the prey. Bob and Matt continue John Ridley's Black Panther with Range Wars (vol. 2), where the reveal of T'Challa's darkest secret turns the Hatut Zeraze against him — hunted as a traitor, kill on sight. With Stefano Landini on art, T'Challa has to outrun Wakanda's most tireless warriors and clear his name. It's a chase book with a king on the run. Matt sympathizes with the secret-keeper; Bob wonders if T'Challa's chickens are finally coming home to roost.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds S3E6 (2025, TV)

Kirk's first command — and it's a nightmare. Bob and Matt unpack 'The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail,' where an injured Captain V'Rel leaves Kirk in charge of the Farragut just as a planet-eating scavenger ship swallows the Enterprise whole. Pelia rigs rotary phones and an Atari-style joystick to fly the ship, Spock delivers the sehlat pep talk, and the twist — the 'scavengers' are devolved humans from a lost 21st-century colony ship — leaves Kirk wracked over 7,000 dead. Bob and Matt debate whether Starfleet's golden boy earns his legend here.

Uncanny Treks: Black Panther-The Long Shadow (2022, Comic)

The king has secrets. Bob and Matt kick off John Ridley's Black Panther run with The Long Shadow (vol. 1), the 2022 espionage story drawn by Juann Cabal that upends everything in T'Challa's life — secrets from the Panther's past with ramifications across the Marvel Universe. Academy Award winner Ridley (12 Years a Slave) brings a spy-thriller engine to Wakanda. Is this the freshest Black Panther take in years or a continuity knot? Matt defends the slow burn; Bob wants to know what T'Challa's been hiding.

Uncanny Treks: Eyes of Wakanda (2025, TV)

Wakanda goes globetrotting — through time. Bob and Matt dive into Eyes of Wakanda, the four-episode Marvel animated miniseries (Disney+, 2025) executive-produced by Ryan Coogler and run by Todd Harris. The Hatut Zeraze recover stolen vibranium across history: 1260 BC Crete, the Trojan War, 15th-century China with an Iron Fist, and 19th-century Ethiopia. It's an anthology of warriors, not kings. Bob wants it longer; Matt wants to talk about what it says about Wakanda's secrecy. Both agree the finale hits.

Uncanny Treks: Star Trek- Strange New Worlds S3E5 (2025, TV)

Trek does cosmic horror. Bob and Matt break down 'Through the Lens of Time,' the Strange New Worlds episode that sends Chapel and Dr. Roger Korby to the ruins of Vadia IX hunting immortality tech — and leaves Ensign Dana Gamble blinded by a glowing orb, then possessed by an ancient non-corporeal evil called the Vezda. The away team splits across quantum realities, Pelia name-drops the oldest things she's ever seen, and Batel's Gorn DNA flares violently. It's the show's darkest hour yet, and Matt has notes on the rules of the quantum split.

Uncanny Treks: Fantastic Four-First Steps (2025, Film)

Marvel's First Family finally comes home. Bob and Matt review Fantastic Four: First Steps, Matt Shakman's 2025 MCU relaunch starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach — with Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer. Set in a retro-futuristic 1960s world, the film is being sold as a family story that 'gets very personal.' Does the MCU's big swing at its most important property land? Matt's cautious optimism meets Bob's show-me skepticism, and the Surfer's shadow looms over everything.

Uncanny Treks: House of Hush (2011, Comic)

Hush comes home. Bob and Matt close the book on Paul Dini and Dustin Nguyen's Batman: Streets of Gotham with House of Hush, collecting the final arc (#12-14, 16-21). Tommy Elliot is cracking under the strain of living as Bruce Wayne, and his unraveling scheme targets Dick Grayson, Selina Kyle, and everyone Bruce loves. It's Dini doing what Dini does best — villains weaponizing identity — and it ends with Hush faceless in Arkham. Bob and Matt argue whether it's a worthy finale to one of the best Batman runs of the 2000s.
