“Mad but real.”

That's how Tony Gilroy described his goal for ANDOR in his original manifesto for the series. It's one of the many, many, many, insights included in the newly released book "The Art of Star Wars: Andor" by Phil Szostak. We originally had different plans for this Detour, but once we cracked this big boy open, we knew we had to detour from the detour and talk to you about our first impressions.

We find a treasure trove of original plans for the series, better understand how much the pandemic and the Hollywood strikes impacted production, get some validation that some of our bonkers theories weren’t so bonkers, obsess over Tony Gilroy’s repeated use of the word “funk”, finally get some answers on the scarcity of alien freaks in season 1, and so much more!
