Managing fatigue at work because I'm a mother to 3 small children is not for the faint-hearted. And then at work last week, the worst happened... I made a mistake on a patient. Thankfully she is fine, everything got sorted out, but I lost hours of sleep over it, and it actually helped me to further accept my fatigue, instead of denying it and pretending I'm okay. I used to freak out when we would have busy days, or busy seasons, at full capacity - to the point I couldn't even clean up after dinner or at least before I went to bed. I would have thoughts like - "is this just my life now?!" and honestly? The answer is NO. This is not about pressuring ourselves to "be better" - better at cleaning, better at keeping up, or the opposite - better at letting go of the mess, better at being a chill mum.
