EP 9- Strength Sessions, Summer Travels & Smart Training Strategies
In this Strong Edit Coach Up episode, the coach shares summer travel and back-to-school transition tips, including using the app’s on-demand travel workouts and messaging for schedule adjustments. She explains how to know when to increase weight using progressive strength training and RPE (rate of perceived exertion), aiming around a 7–8 with 1–2 reps in reserve, and describes how to “bridge the gap” by starting a set heavier and dropping down if needed while keeping form and range of motion solid. She notes some movements are effort-based rather than weight-based, encourages recording form videos for feedback, and updates listeners on behind-the-scenes app cleanup, added resources, and beta-tested features. She emphasizes consistency over perfection and avoiding an all-or-nothing mindset. 00:00 Summer Travel Check-In 00:31 Travel Workout Resources 01:03 When To Increase Weight 02:36 Bridging Weight Jumps 04:27 Form Over Numbers 05:51 RPE And Core Work 06:38 Record Form For Feedback 07:24 App Updates And Resources 08:39 Coach Support And Research 10:13 Back To School Consistency 10:52 More Podcasts On Demand
Ep 8: Summer Heat Guide and Travel Workouts
Strength in Motion – Episode 8: Summer Heat Guide and Travel Workouts Summer is here, and that means heat, travel, and motivation dips. In this episode, we cover how to adjust your training to stay consistent without burning out. A reminder that motivation ebbs in summer, and that's normal. The host will be traveling to Iceland and returning on Monday, July 13th. Keep sending messages — responses resume on return.
Ep 7: Summer Updates and Availability
In episode seven of Strength in Motion, the host shares client-focused announcements for the busy summer season, encouraging listeners that shorter sessions, missed reps, and simply showing up still count as progress, and noting travel plans can be accommodated with training adjustments.
Ep 6:Protein and Summer Training Strategy
With Memorial Day and busy end-of-school schedules approaching, this episode reviews why protein matters—supporting muscle, fullness, blood sugar stability, recovery, and healthy aging—and how to make it feel less restrictive by building breakfast, lunch, and dinner “anchor meals” around solid protein sources (animal or plant), using a palm-size portion as a simple guide. It offers practical examples (eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, shakes; chicken, tuna, turkey, tofu, salmon, beans/legumes) and encourages starting small by adding protein to one meal on an easier day. The script also explains how to adapt training through holidays and vacations using a three-question framework (what’s available, minimum effective dose, decide before leaving) to avoid all-or-nothing thinking, stay connected to the habit, and plan modifications with coach support, including permission to rest without guilt. The coach notes they’ll be off client-facing duties the week after Memorial Day while still available for messages and plan adjustments.
Ep 5: how to move up the Weights and what does 20-30 grams of protein look like
Episode three of Strength in Motion answers two common questions: how to keep progressing in strength training when the next dumbbell or kettlebell jump feels too big, and how to hit 20–30g of protein per meal with simple, grab-and-go options. The episode explains progressive overload and using RPE (1–10 scale) to match effort, then shares two tactics: increase reps with the same weight to reach the target RPE, or use the drop-down method by starting with the heavier weight for a few quality reps and finishing the set lighter.
Ep 4: Protein, Aging, and Muscle for Women
This episode kicks off a short series on protein—why it matters, how much you may need, and how to actually fit it into your day—especially for women 30+ heading into perimenopause or menopause. You’ll hear how shifting estrogen levels can impact muscle, bone density, insulin sensitivity, recovery, and even joints and soft tissue, and why strength training helps protect your health, metabolism, and independence as you age.
EP 3: Hyrdation
In episode three of Strength in Motion, the host explains why hydration matters year-round, especially during warmer-than-usual temperatures, and how even mild dehydration can affect brain function and mood, physical performance, digestion, kidney health, sleep, stress, and recovery.
EP 2: Seasonal Training Plans
EP 2: Seasonal Training Plans, Strength and Motion Weekly Recap This week's recap covers two topics that have been coming up frequently: what happens to your body when you ramp up movement as the weather warms, and how to plan your training as summer schedules get unpredictable. Action Items Message your coach in the app with your schedule for the next 4–6 weeks Note any travel, rest weeks, or equipment limitations The more your coach knows, the better she can build a plan that fits your life
Intro to the Strength in Motion Podcast
Trailer
Kat shares that the community forum has been quiet for several months since her last post in December or early January. She explains the pause was intentional as she restructured to better support everyone. She encourages members to continue using direct messages and weekly check-in forms, and sets a new purpose for the forum as a supportive space for extra education, helpful reminders, and community connection between coaching check-ins. Kat will post a brief 10–15-minute weekly podcast to answer questions from the week and expand on topics such as nutrition mindset, strength training, cardio, sleep, stress, and navigating real life. She invites everyone to ask questions, share wins and challenges, stay curious, and show up consistently, and assures that anything shared in DMs will remain private.
