Episode 40: Jumper
What if you could teleport anywhere in the world whenever you wanted? Sounds awesome, right? Now what if a secret ancient order, and Samuel L. Jackson with a very personal grudge all wanted to kill you? Suddenly that free vacation to Paris feels a little less relaxing.
This week on I Can Fix Your Movie, we’re jumping headfirst into Jumper, the 2008 sci-fi adventure starring Hayden Christensen, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson, and Samuel L. Jackson. We’re talking teleportation, globe-trotting, conveniently unexplained superpowers, villains who apparently have unlimited frequent-flyer miles, and a movie that introduces one of the coolest superpowers imaginable… before doing surprisingly little with it.
So grab your imaginary teleportation coordinates, avoid the Paladins, and join us as we figure out how to take Jumper from “Hey, this is a pretty cool idea” to “Okay, NOW make the movie about that cool idea.”
Because when you can teleport anywhere in the world, there’s no excuse for taking the long way around to a better story.
