2/28 Florida Weather Noon: Special Weather Statement

Good afternoon. Florida. I'm Aaron Jolly. Folks, we've a slow-moving boundary slicing through the state today. and it's acting like a divider between two different worlds. South of this front, you're dealing with tropical moisture and highs near 80 degrees. North of it? You're sitting in the 60s with dry air. That front is dragging its heels as it drifts offshore, which means the weather you see right now is the weather you keep until it passes. In the next 24 hours. Down in South Florida, you're in the bullseye for energy this afternoon. Highs top out near 80 degrees, but that heat is fueling scattered showers and thunderstorms. Keep an eye on the sky near Lake Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast — a few storms could pack a punch with gusty winds or small hail. The activity fizzles out this evening as the front finally sags south. You'll wake up to around 70 degrees. Sunday brings a mix of sun and clouds, staying warm at 78 degrees. In Central Florida, you're caught in the middle. Expect a high near 74 degrees with a few showers possible. Once that front clears tonight, the drier air moves in. Lows drop to the upper 50s. Sunday looks sunny and pleasant, warming back up to 77 degrees. Up in North Florida, you're already in the clear. Highs hit the mid 60s under mostly sunny skies. Tonight, temperatures tumble to around 51 degrees. You might see some patchy fog late, so take it slow if you're driving early. Sunday brings plenty of sunshine with a high near 71 degrees. Looking ahead, the pattern shifts next week. High pressure slides east, setting up a persistent onshore wind flow. That pumps moisture back inland, giving us coastal showers each afternoon, mainly in the south. Boaters, watch out — seas build and conditions get choppy by Tuesday and Wednesday. Despite the rain, temperatures climb above normal, with most of us cracking the 80s. Charge those phones and keep the umbrellas handy. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

2/28 Florida Weather 6 AM: Dense Fog Advisory

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. That rain hammering your roof overnight? Nearly half an inch across parts of the state. and it left a parting gift. Dense fog. If you're driving inland routes before 9 A.M., slow way down. Visibility could vanish on you. In the next 24 hours. So what's going on? A dying cold front is draped across central Florida like a wet towel nobody wants to pick up. Tropical moisture is pooled south of it. We're talking moisture levels near the 95th percentile for late February. That's basically summer juice in a winter atmosphere. The front's crawling south. and drier air is chasing it from the northwest. but until that swap happens, central Florida sits right in the crosshairs. Up in North Florida, you're getting off easy. Cloudy skies, highs in the mid to upper 60s. Not bad at all. Central Florida catches the action. Scattered showers and thunderstorms fire up this afternoon. Highs reach the low to mid 70s. The bullseye for stronger storms? Lake Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast, roughly between 2 P.M. and 4 P.M. Gusty winds and small hail are the main threats. Nothing catastrophic, but enough to rattle your patio furniture. Down in South Florida, partly sunny skies and highs near 80 degrees. A stray shower is possible, but you're mostly watching the fireworks from a distance. Everything fizzles by evening. Skies clear statewide tonight. Lows settle into the mid 50s up north, upper 50s through central. and a balmy 70 degrees in South Florida. Now the good news. Sunday brings wall to wall sunshine. Comfortable 70s in the north, upper 70s central, low 80s south. Monday through Wednesday stays mostly sunny but breezy. Coastal gusts hit 20 to 25 miles an hour by midweek. Thursday and Friday? Warm and dry. Low to mid 80s statewide. Charge your phones before those afternoon storms roll through. You'll want radar handy. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

2/27 Florida Weather 6 PM: Special Weather Statement

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Here's the situation. A weakening cold front has basically stalled out right over the peninsula. It's acting like a magnet for moisture, pulling in heavy showers and thunderstorms straight from the Gulf. This creates a tale of two states. South Florida stays mostly sunny and warm. Meanwhile. Central and North Florida deal with rounds of rain and storms. The good news? This front finally pushes south by Sunday, bringing drier air to finish your weekend. In the next 24 hours. Down in South Florida, you're seeing the best of the sunshine today. Highs reach a warm 79 degrees. Tonight stays mild with a low around 71. You might see a stray shower late, but most of the rain holds off. Saturday looks fantastic with a high near 80 and mostly sunny skies, though you could see storms late in the day. Heading up to Central Florida. Orlando and the surrounding areas. You're in the thick of it today. Showers and thunderstorms are likely. Highs top out near 74 degrees. Tonight stays cloudy with a low around 63. Rain continues overnight and into Saturday morning. By the afternoon, the rain tapers off and you hit 74 degrees again. Up in North Florida. Jacksonville and the north are seeing showers and storms this afternoon. You peak near 79 degrees before falling back. Tonight turns cooler with a low around 58. The rain clears out Saturday. Expect a warming trend through the week. Highs climb back into the low 80s by Tuesday. You'll also see a daily chance for coastal showers. Boaters should note that winds increase by midweek. That could create hazardous conditions on the Atlantic waters. Keep that umbrella handy for the next couple of days.

Folks, you felt it today. That heavy, sticky air clinging to everything. There's a reason for it. A cold front is draped across the state right now. and it's in no hurry to leave. Think of it as a house guest who showed up with luggage. and no departure date. In the next 24 hours. The front is stalling. That means rounds of showers and thunderstorms tonight and right through Saturday. Some of these storms mean business. We're talking gusty winds up to 50 miles an hour, frequent lightning. and small hail. The kind of afternoon where your car alarm goes off and you just shrug. So where's the action? Orlando sits right in the bullseye. 76 degrees this afternoon, but the storms are the real headline. Rain continues tonight with lows around 59 degrees. Saturday afternoon? Temperatures climb back into the upper 70s and low 80s. Early next week stays warm and mostly sunny with just a few coastal showers each afternoon. Smooth sailing through Thursday. If you're catching storms tonight, keep your phone charged and stay off the roads during the heaviest downpours. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.

Red Flag Warning | Florida Weather 6 AM

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast. It's Thursday, February 26th. Grab that coffee and step outside. You'll feel 48 degrees across Central Florida right now. That's the kind of morning where you question your wardrobe choices.. Then remember you live in paradise. South Florida, you barely noticed. Mid 60s overnight. Must be nice. Now the good news. Sunshine takes over today and temperatures climb fast. Central Florida pushes to 79 degrees by mid afternoon. Tampa Bay lands right around 78. North Florida reaches 74, but you'll feel some gusty southwest winds up to 17 miles an hour. South Florida warms to 76 with a slim chance of a passing shower later today. Folks, one serious note. Those gusty winds and bone dry air are a bad combination. A Red Flag Warning kicks in from 1 P.M. to 6 P.M. across northern counties near the I-4 corridor. No outdoor burning today. Not even a thought. Tonight settles in mild. Lows in the upper 50s to low 60s statewide. Tampa Bay, watch for patchy fog rolling in after midnight. Friday is the headliner. Highs soar into the low to mid 80s almost everywhere. South Florida could flirt with 85 degrees inland. Moisture creeps back in, so afternoon showers and maybe a rumble of thunder become possible. Looking ahead, a weak front slides through Friday night into Saturday. That's when rain chances peak. Central and North Florida see the most action Saturday, though totals stay light, mostly under half an inch. Sunday dries out beautifully. Then high pressure parks itself over us early next week. Monday through Wednesday? Dry, warm, highs in the low to mid 80s. A few coastal showers could sneak in Tuesday and Wednesday, but nothing to cancel plans over. I'll be tracking that Friday front closely tonight. See you tomorrow with the latest. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Act one runs through Thursday. Warm, sunny, beautiful. Highs pushing upper 70s to low 80s. Act two arrives Friday when a cold front crashes the party. Showers and thunderstorms roll statewide, peaking Saturday before clearing out Sunday. And a fun little reminder.. The spring equinox is just three weeks out. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Rip Current Statement | Florida Weather Noon

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. So Florida woke up at 48 degrees this morning. Frost advisories ran until 8 A.M. Across inland areas. If your windshield looked like a snow globe.. Yeah, that was real. But here's the good news. High pressure is sliding offshore right now, pulling in southerly winds. That means warmth is already on the way back. Down in South Florida, you're sitting pretty at 72 degrees this afternoon. Central Florida matches that. North Florida and Tampa Bay land right around 70. Not bad for a day that started with frost on the grass. Tonight stays comfortable. South Florida only dips to 66 degrees. Central Florida cools to 48. North Florida and Tampa Bay settle near 51 to 52. One thing to watch. Fire danger is elevated through Thursday. Humidity drops into the 30s this afternoon inland. And southwest winds bump up to 10 miles an hour today, then 10 to 15 tomorrow. If you're doing any outdoor burning.. Just don't. Thursday the heat keeps building. South Florida pushes 78 degrees. Central Florida hits 80. North Florida and Tampa Bay reach the upper 70s. Then Friday gets interesting. Mid 80s inland. Near 80 along the coast. Your AC might kick on for the first time in weeks. But moisture is building ahead of a slow moving cold front. Rain chances climb Friday afternoon, then showers and thunderstorms become likely Friday night into Saturday. Especially over North and Central Florida. We're talking three quarters of an inch to over an inch of rain. Honestly? The drought needs every drop. Sunday clears out behind the front. Onshore winds keep us in the 70s to low 80s through early next week. A few coastal showers possible, but mostly dry and pleasant. Charge your phones tonight. I'll have the full storm timing for you tomorrow morning. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
