Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. That sticky warmth you're feeling right now? Enjoy it. A cold front is sliding south across the state as we speak. and it's dragging rain behind it like a wet blanket. In the next 24 hours. The front is losing energy as it drops south. That means North Florida gets hit first and hardest. Showers and thunderstorms are already firing up. and by late afternoon, storms could pack gusts near 40 miles an hour. Highs reach 79 degrees before temperatures nosedive tonight. Saturday morning greets you at 58 degrees. That's a 53 degrees drop overnight. Central Florida, your turn comes this afternoon. Showers roll in around 1 P.M., then thunderstorms take over through tonight. Some spots could pick up one to two inches of rain. Which is actually great news for the drought.
