Family Guy Season 1 Episode 7 recap: "Brian: Portrait of a Dog," where Brian enters a dog show for $500, ends up in prison, and Peter defends him in court.
Jason Hackett, Tyler Simpson, and Collin Brown are joined by first-time guest Danny Neely, who hasn't watched Family Guy in over ten years and jumps in cold on episode seven. Danny declares himself a structure head, then immediately gets tested by an episode with barely any Chris or Meg dialogue. The Dud-or-Stud rating system comes out for the barbershop quartet gag, Plessy v. Ferguson, and an ironically unplanned Roe v. Wade tangent. The guys argue over whether Lois is the one being weirdly horny in the leather collar scene, debate if Brian even deserves sympathy since "he doesn't do anything," and vote the deer-hitting-the-car gag the best joke of the episode. Stewie gets his usual Gay Watch check-in, Michael Ian Black's Cameo budget gets its own emergency meeting, and things end with an Inception detour that somehow results in Tyler getting fictionally pregnant.

Family Guy Guys is a rewatch podcast where three longtime improv comedians go through all 461 Family Guy episodes in order, arguing about whether a joke works, whether the show is secretly Seth MacFarlane working something out, and whether Brian has ever done anything for this family.
Is Lois into Brian, or is he just projecting? Tell us where you land in the comments.
