Good evening. West Virginia. I'm Michael Nally.
That sticky, muggy air clinging to you? it's the last gasp of summer-like heat before a wild week hits. We picked up nearly two tenths of an inch of rain overnight. And temperatures are *still* hovering near 60 degrees at midnight. But don't get too comfortable. That warmth is about to get swept away.
**here's what's headed our way.**
A broken line of showers and thunderstorms is marching east statewide right now. Central West Virginia is ground zero for the action. Expect heavy downpours and rumbles of thunder through 11 P.M. Temperatures will actually rise overnight to near 61 degrees, fueled by soupy air ahead of a cold front. Southwest winds at 6 to 9 miles an hour keep things breezy, gusting up to 21 miles an hour at times.
