The beauty of prayer is that talking with God is for all seasons of life. And for Christians on this side of heaven, that includes bringing our sin to him. But stop and think about that for a minute. We can bring our sin against God TO God. God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love. He is ready to forgive. That’s astounding! So what, then, does it look like for me as a child of God to bring my sin to him? How is my relationship with God restored after sinning? Only through real repentance. And what does real repentance look like? David’s prayer in Psalm 51 has much to teach us.
