Josh McKoon, Georgia GOP chairman, admitted to using the party’s credit card for personal expenses like gym memberships after social media exposure. His wife, Jacqueline McKoon, named president/CEO of the Butts County Chamber of Commerce, is linked to the controversy online. Travis Bowden, McKoon’s senior advisor and former GA GOP Inc. executive director, was reportedly fired, replaced by Justin Rice from the RNC. Despite his termination, Bowden received payments in December 2024, raising oversight concerns. Bowden claims his name won’t appear in FEC filings. Governor Brian Kemp announced on May 5, 2025, he won’t run for Senate in 2026. Critics demand GOP leaders retract support for McKoon, warning that without grassroots action, Republicans risk losing Georgia in 2026.
