First Day Jitters
In this episode of Unscripted with Liz, I dive into the excitement and anxiety of starting the student teaching journey. I begin by introducing myself and sharing a bit about my background, including where I’m from and my educational path, and I also touch on the journey that led me to this point, highlighting key milestones and experiences that have prepared me for this role. Next, I reflect on my initial impressions as I embarked on Week 0 of student teaching. I discuss the preparations made to get ready, including the professional development activities I’ve participated in, the planning and organization of materials, and the specific strategies I’ve employed to prepare both mentally and professionally. I share insights into which aspects of professional development have been particularly impactful. What listeners can expect in the upcoming week. I’ll talk about the experience of meeting students and families and the initial interactions that set the tone for the student teaching experience. I’ll also discuss what I’m looking forward to and what I’m nervous about as I step into the first days of school, including the goals I’ve set for myself for these initial days and beyond.
