Episode notes

Mike Malloy: “Mike the Durable”

Meet Mike Malloy, the Depression-era New Yorker who somehow survived an absolutely ridiculous number of attempts on his life. A group of men took out life insurance policies on Mike and decided to make some easy money by killing him. The problem? Mike just would not die.

Poisoned drinks? Nope. Extreme cold? Still alive. Getting hit by a car? Somehow, still alive.

Eventually, the men known as the “Murder Trust” changed tactics and finally succeeded in killing Mike in February 1933. Their insurance scam was eventually uncovered, leading to multiple arrests and executions.
