Dr Mary Antonia Wood is a scholar of archetypal depth psychology and the author of the new book, The Archetypal Artist: Reimagining Creativity and the Call to Create. Her work and focus are among the principal resources I claim as inspiring this show and the topics I curate here, namely a reinvigoration of meaning through the creative process.
Dr Wood is the chair of the Depth Psychology and Creativity program at the Pacifica Graduate Institute, and an accomplished visual artist whose work draws deeply from both the surrealist bricolage movement as well as the feminist symbolism of seminal painters such as O'keefe and Cornell.
