Akshay received his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Masters of Public Health at Harvard University. He became a Medical Doctor at University of California San Francisco. He is a Fellows of the American College of Surgeons.

Akshay’s fellowship was in Craniomaxillofacial and Trauma Surgery at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, Oregon​. In his free time, he enjoys playing music, cooking, and spending time with his wife and two children.
