In the Me’am Loez section, Rabbi Rubenstein examines the criticism Pinchas faced after stopping the plague by killing Zimri. Despite accusations about his ancestry and authority, Pinchas’ actions were affirmed because they defended the covenant with God, teaching that standing for what is right may bring opposition even from one’s own community.
