Shadow People & Skinwalkers: Ancient Entities or Collective Manifestation?
Are the terrifying entities we report seeing—like Skinwalkers, ghosts, and shadow people—ancient beings that have always walked among us, or is it possible that our collective human consciousness is actively manifesting them into reality? In this episode, we chat about the blurry line between paranormal entities and the human psyche, exploring why the monsters reported in real life so perfectly mirror the nightmares we see on movie screens. We spent some time talking about how the term "Skinwalker" has shifted so much over time. It is interesting because, historically, it referred to Navajo shamans who were said to have the ability to shape-shift, which is worlds away from how we use the term now to describe the generic "movie-monster" entities of today. It is a good example of how language and concepts evolve, often drifting pretty far from their original cultural roots. From there, the conversation flows into the mystery of shadow people and the theory that they might just be literal reflections of the things we refuse to face within ourselves. This brought us to Carl Jung and his ideas on the "shadow self," which got us thinking about why young children are so instinctively terrified of their own shadows. Since that is not a learned behavior, it makes you wonder if humans enter this world pre-programmed to fear the dark aspects of reality. Whether you are into paranormal lore or just love a good psychological mystery, this chat will definitely give you something to think about next time you catch a glimpse of something in the corner of your eye.
Breaking the Cycle: The Reincarnation Trap, Archons, and the Afterlife
What actually happens to the soul when we leave this physical reality? In this episode, my mother and I sit down for a deep, unfiltered conversation about the mysteries of the afterlife, drawing from our own personal opinions, experiences, and existential theories. We start by exploring the diverse perspectives on what comes next, including a fascinating look at why some deeply spiritual individuals don’t believe in reincarnation at all. From there, we go straight down the rabbit hole into one of the most compelling topics in alternative spirituality: the "reincarnation trap" or soul loop. Together, we tackle the big questions: Who or what are the Archons, and what is their alleged role in keeping consciousness cycling through this matrix? Did humanity inadvertently construct this cosmic trap ourselves? Most importantly, how do we retain our sovereignty, remember our true nature, and avoid falling back into the loop when our time comes to cross over? Whether you are a seasoned researcher of cosmic matrix theories or just curious about the destiny of the soul, this episode will give you plenty to ponder. What do you believe happens when we cross over? Do you think the soul loop is real? Let us know your thoughts and experiences in the comments!
The Language of the Unseen
Are you waiting for a sign, or are you missing the conversation that is already happening? This week, we dive into the profound world of symbology—the primary language of Spirit, the subconscious, and the history of the human experience. From the ancient etchings on cave walls to the modern-day emoji, symbols have always been our way of communicating entire concepts that words simply cannot hold. However, the "symbolic language" of Spirit isn't always easy to swallow. In this episode, we get honest about the frustration of receiving a metaphor when you really just wanted a clear, telepathic sentence in plain English. We explore the differing perspectives on why Spirit chooses to communicate in archetypes and images rather than direct dialogue. Is it a limitation of our own frequency, or is there a specific power in the symbol that a word can never achieve? Join us as we bridge the gap between the mundane and the mystical, discussing how to recognise the symbols appearing in your daily life and how to navigate the beautiful, sometimes maddening complexity of spiritual communication.
Tarot Explored — Symbolism, Correspondences and Intuition
In this episode of The Veil and the Thread, we explore tarot — from its symbolism and correspondences to the different ways it can be experienced and understood. We share our own personal journeys with tarot, including why one of us feels deeply drawn to working with the cards, while the other tends to step back and rely more on mediumship and intuitive connection. This conversation looks at how different spiritual tools can resonate differently for each person, and how there’s no single 'right' way to explore intuition or connection. As always, this is a relaxed and open discussion based on our own experiences, rather than instruction or advice. Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t, and trust your own path.
Spirit, Discernment and Self-Occupation — Who Are We Connecting With?
In this episode of The Veil and the Thread, we explore a question that often sits quietly beneath spiritual practice — who, or what, are we really connecting with? We talk about communicating with spirit or energy, and how different perspectives can shape the way we understand those experiences. We also reflect on why certain tools or methods may feel more open or susceptible than others, and the importance of discernment when engaging with them. Alongside this, we discuss the idea of self-protection — or what we refer to as self-occupation — and how staying grounded, present, and aware of your own energy can be an important part of navigating spiritual spaces. As always, this is not presented as fact or advice, but as a thoughtful and open conversation based on our own experiences and reflections. This episode is intended to encourage curiosity, awareness, and a more balanced approach to spiritual exploration — taking what resonates, and leaving what doesn’t.
Psychic vs Spiritual Mediumship - Exploring the Clairs
In this episode, we move beyond the topic of empaths and begin exploring psychic and mediumistic abilities. We talk about the difference between psychic awareness and mediumship, including the distinction between psychic mediumship and spiritual mediumship. We also introduce some of the most common intuitive senses, often referred to as the “clairs,” such as clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience and others, and discuss how these abilities may show up in everyday life. As always, this is a casual conversation based on our own experiences and understanding, rather than professional or spiritual advice. Our goal is simply to explore these topics openly and share perspectives that may resonate with listeners who are curious about intuition and spiritual awareness.
What Does It Really Mean to Be an Empath?
In this episode of The Veil and the Thread, we explore what it means to be an empath. We talk about how to recognise empathic traits, how sensitivity can show up in everyday life, and share some of our own personal experiences of navigating the world as empaths. We also gently discuss ways you might support yourself — or someone in your life — if strong emotions and energetic sensitivity feel overwhelming at times. As always, this is not official advice, but an open and honest conversation drawn from our own lived experiences and reflections. Wherever you are on your journey, we invite you to take what resonates and leave the rest.
Finding the Thread — Our Personal Journeys into Spirituality
Welcome to the very first episode of The Veil and the Thread. In this episode, we introduce ourselves and share our personal journeys into spirituality — how curiosity, life experiences, and quiet moments of questioning led us here. As a mother and daughter, our paths have been different, but deeply connected, and this conversation marks the beginning of a wider exploration into spiritual and mystical topics. This podcast is not about expertise or instruction, but about open, thoughtful conversation. Whether you’re just beginning to explore spirituality or have been walking your own path for years, we invite you to listen, reflect, and join us as we gently explore what lies beyond the veil.
