He said, “A good man had a vineyard. He gave it to some tenants so that they might work it, and he would receive the fruit from them. He sent his servant, so that the tenants might give him the fruit of the vineyard. They seized his servant, beat and almost killed him. The servant came and told his master. His master said, ‘Perhaps they did not recognise him.’ He sent another servant and the tenants also beat them. Then the master sent his son. He said, ‘Perhaps they will respect my son.’ Those tenants, since they knew that he was the heir to the vineyard, seized and killed him. Those that have ears, let them hear.”
