July 30th 2026 New England Video Fishing Forecast with Dave Anderson
The Fisherman’s “Next Cast” Weekly Podcast by Jim Hutchinson, Jr., Matthew Broderick, Dave
Episode notes
The brown shark explosion has gone nuclear and it’s so bad in some places that it’s literally impossible to fish for stripers; that is, if you have any scruples at all. This week’s report discusses the areas that now need to be avoided if you want to fish for stripers and have a reasonable chance at landing them in one piece! Fluking seems to be seeing a bit of a resurgence along the Rhode Island shore and throughout Nantucket Sound. The rec tuna bite is finally breaking through east of the Cape, but it’s been tough everywhere else, unless you’re looking for giants. North of the Cape we’re seeing pockets of excellent striper fishing (with zero sharks) and some surprise summer lake trout action as well.
