Dr Kelly Albus is an environmental scientist and a National Geographic Explorer based in Dallas, TX. With a background in ecology and stream management, Albus has centered her career around environmental education. Her current research explores how community-based education and citizen science influence learning outcomes, attitudes, and pro-environmental behavior. Launched in November 2023, her Classroom 2 Community (C2C) project, funded by the National Geographic Society, builds on her earlier work with the Society, focusing on developing participatory science tools that empower students to collaborate in water management and sustainable urban development initiatives.
