Mugshots & Maker Marks: Why Coffee Looks So Good
There’s a reason you remember the logo on your favorite mug or the swirl in your cappuccino—design is everywhere in the world of coffee. For our first-ever episode, I’m taking you into the heart of what makes coffee look as delectable as it tastes. From the shape of the perfect café cup to the details of the latest indie coffee sticker, we’ll explore how visuals, craft, and caffeine fuel our brains and our brands. I’ll discuss: The history behind iconic café logos and what makes a mug “Instagrammable” How specialty coffee shops use branding, color, and interior design to create a vibe Stories from the artists who design for (and with) their local roasters Why coffee culture can’t exist without typography, illustration, and a little bit of flair We’ll also sit down with fictional guest Marco Chen, a graphic designer and former barista, who shares his creative process for merging coffee and illustration—plus his all-time favorite mug. By the end, you’ll see coffee as more than a drink: it’s a gallery, a canvas, and a creative spark.
