This is a podcast episode where the hosts, Adrienne and Pam, discuss the topic of coping with burnout as parents and therapists in private practice. They share their personal experiences with expectations and how they have learned to manage them. They also talk about the importance of being present and aware of what is needed in the moment rather than focusing on future goals or desires. Adrienne and Pamela also discuss how they have experienced burnout in the past. They both talk about how they have a tendency to do too much and have learned to listen to their bodies and focus on what is essential. Pamela shares her experience with empty nest syndrome and how it is an ongoing process. Adrian talks about parenting a young child and how it can sometimes be overwhelming but acknowledges that it is a learning experience.
